This is the guy the Republican party is grooming for 2016.

He didn't have the support of his own party to do a proper filibuster against the bill he spent a year campaigning against, and failed to win any votes with his pseudo-buster that did nothing to prevent a vote from being cast. He might recover by 2016, but he'll have to overcome the colossal failure that his first time out was.

He's done.

2012 was the first time I've ever voted for a non republican since I turned 18 and began to vote
but I sure could get behind Christie for Prez, at this stage anyway

I think the last Republican I was willing to vote for was Ronald Reagan (Walter Mondale was a goddamn alien), but that's probably not abnormal during the Bush Saga. I'm open to the concept, but the whole party is so transparently obsessed with acquisition of control rather than anyone else's interests, it's hard for me to even appear impartial nowadays. That party desperately needs new leadership.

Cruz isn't it.

That sums up my opinion of both parties. Neither is worth backing if you at all care about yourself. Otherwise it's a choice between subsidizing the place you work or the people you live across to tracks from.

Anything that snaps voters out of apathy, and can be channeled, is an advantage. It will be interesting to see how 2014 goes.

the difference being that the Tea Party is incredibly well bankrolled (a ten-page article, but worth the read).
