What, it's not fair that Capital One can rob you, but you can't rob Capital One?

The direction any criminal trial takes does seem to be determined solely by the quality of the principals' lawyers. That tends to mean rich people get lighter sentences. Monetizing the practice of law is one of the least-watched spread vectors for injustice here.

Homeless dude probably will live better/healthier in prison than on the streets, anyway.

Worthy, I agree that it isn't fair, and it definitely sucks.

As is usually the case, there's more to the original story... One was obviously a more "violent" crime, with the robbery guy making believe he had a weapon. Then there's the fact that the guy that got a 40 month sentance was a small player in the ordeal and the main guy got 30 years.
