I called khan "xan" the other day, kinda freaked myself out.

Also, more clerics please so I can stop healing.

Cleric sounds good. I haven't really healed since vanilla WoW. I'll roll over there sometime tonight/tomorrow. I start my internship this Monday so this will give me something to do now that classes are finally finished.

P.S. Someone make me a loadout of bags. Default bags are dumb.

Will sub back up tonight and make a character on Belmont. Is there a class or classes that are needed?

Rogues are by far the class there's the most of in the guild, with mages coming in 2nd and warriors and clerics bringing up the rear.

In game as Invid. Being useless so far as DPS/healing hybrid but Justicar/Inquisitor/Shaman is the fastest AE leveling I've found.

Man, i love my cleric. When i go out to farm dailys i pull like 12 or so mobs at a time and just AE them down with my Justicar/shaman/inquisitor spec. Cant speak for healing roles as i never main healed anything. I use my farm spec since its heavy shaman rather than justicar and it support heals pretty well.

Here's the trouble I am facing. This is just a short video of the player creation screen. It keeps freezing over and over and over and over.....

(you can see it freeze when he appears to stop breathing, then the screen flashes after a few seconds)

Make sure AA and Shadows are turned off as well.

I need to finish Iron Tombs before I out level it completely, and the their dungeon finder setup is like WoW's used to be. If you out level their recommended level, it prevents the dungeon from being selected. So if any of you up and coming people want to run Iron Tombs today (Thursday) message Invid. I need healing practice.

Drivers updated, etc. I will try disabling shadows to see if that helps. There's a 40+ page on the official boards with people having similar issues, so I don't think it's anything specific to my computer that is messed up. At least it's just a trial.

nope can't do it. I'm weird but my rogue can't be a rosettaish name. I know odd. So I will remake the cleric as Rozetta and make the rogue Thornn if I can. The cleric is only level 7 lol so an hour or 2 if I stop to make dinner haha

Freeze, black screen, reset, rinse, repeat. I posted a video showing the problem. Others are having similar problems. I'm not going to bend over backwards trying to get the game to play. I came, I saw (liked what I saw), I lost. Bring on Star Wars.

Either nobody uses it pre 50, or their version of the looking for dungeon tool sucks. Can't buy a queue even as a healer.

EDIT: Oh that's why. It requires someone to queue in as "support", but queues up support as the least important choice behind any other, including DPS. Brilliant.

Be nice if it actually let you see who is in the queue and what place you are so you could get a general idea of if a group will form at all or if there's 25 dps ahead of you and no tanks in the queue.

For the lower level groups I generally just join then call out in the level channel anyway to see if anyone's looking.

I still like the simple EQ method for LFG. Just turn a flag on and force people to be social. /shrug

The LFG tool has bugs, as we found out last night. It would've let us start a random dungeon, even after we formed a group ourselves, because it didn't think we had the right people.

Turns out it was right (for Plutonus only though), but that's another matter!

I am playing for the 7 day demo, and I'm Necro/Warlork. So, you can have a char with subclasses I take it. Where you are limited on how many points you can use for each tree? Kinda of interesting indeed.

Got to mess around and find which class I like best. The Necro is cool I guess.

The simple explanation is this...

You pick one of four primary classes: Warrior, Cleric, Rogue, or Mage.

From there, you have 8 different sub-classes (called souls) and can mix and match any way you like.

In fact, you can keep up to 5 different matched sets saved, once you spend in-game money to buy the extra slots (called roles). These roles can be reset one at a time for a nominal fee of gold.

At level 50, you have 66 points to spend between the three, with any single soul supporting up to 51 points.

I switched from my DPS spec to a healing spec last night for PVP, and it was a blast, even though we got stomped on the three games I was in. Took part in a zonewide event in Stonefield, but didn't seem like enough people took part so I got stomped in that too.

Moral of the story:
Play Rift to get stomped.

That's one of my frustrations -- that you have to rely so much on other people. And while that was even more true in EQ, it seems like other games since then have removed people's ability to talk about or plan any kind of of attack. They just go and do their own thing without any actual collaboration. It's especially noticeable in PvP.

It gets better when you get to group with guildies (and more so when we use Vent, which is rare so far).

This guy has some pretty helpful mage advice on his website, I don't really follow any of his stuff 100% but it gives you some good starting points.

Thanks for the info all. I got my third soul last night at lv 5, but I did not see any quest to choose a subclass. But I had to log, so I did not really look for a quest giver more than a few mins tho.

There are quests to get your remaining 5 souls, but there aren't any subclass quests.

Just arrange the souls in any setup you like and visit your trainer to purchase more roles (soul configuration slots) or reset a role.

I did learn after the fact in Iron Tombs, as a dps cleric, make sure you have a 2nd role with a rez!

Oh I thought that might be the case, Leolan! Thanks for the info and I will mess around tonight.

And, I think I like the rogue class better because I choose a Ranger last night to play and see. It reminds me a lot of the Witch Hunter in Warhammer! A class I really did enjoy playing because of the combos for attacks. The Ranger seems more of a mix between that and a WoW hunter as well.

Yeah, I do like the way this soul talent type system works so far.

Yea, I definitely got a Warhammer vibe when I was playing last week.

Warrior uses something similar to combos as well.

Might need to check out the warrior as well then. Btw, so far all the quests are "kill random mobs" and "collect random items". Is there any story driven quests later on? Or some that change things up a bit?

One of the main reasons why I'm looking forward to SWTOR, is because of the story and voice acting. Yeah, I'm getting lazy and don't want to read text anymore! Well not that I don't want to read, it's just becoming a standard for next gen MMO's. And I would love to see all MMO's use it like Blizzard and BioWare does.

It adds to the over all exp of the game in my eyes. I see some talks of PvP here! How is it and stuff?
