After I quit playing wow in July, I got hacked and they made a 10 day trial on 12/30. My friend texted me asking what my toons were doing online today. So I change the password, get back in after downloading a bunch of crap, and I think Im better off? lol

I had 4 level 80 toons. They emptied all their bags, but not banks, or gear they had on. They then went to town mining with my dk. Well when I got on, between my dk, and for some reason my mid level rogue, I had almost 15k gold rofl. So Im tempted to keep the 15k gold, instead of getting back what I had in my bags on 4 toons. What do you guys think I should do?

Also how do I get hacked while not playing, and not being dumb enough to get keylogged anyways? Seems fishy...

They spent 8 hours farming Mana Tombs with my paladin. When I finally got control of my account back (and putting my authenticator back on my account...), I put in a restoration request. I ended up getting *everything* back, including what they'd farmed from mana tombs and the gold they'd apparently sent away to their little chinese gold farm bank.

I ended up making close to 20k in profit over what I already had. So put in the restoration request. Chances are they won't take away your 15k, not like that's a lot of money right now anyway (at least on ysera)

Do you guys not use Authenticators? Or do they have a method around them?

There's a method around the authentication, but I doubt it's used for hacking WoW accounts. Basically everyone should have an authenticator.

The only reason I got hacked is because I was using the mobile authenticator and was going to wipe/reinstall my phone, so I removed it from my account and forgot to put my keyring authenticator on the account.

Within two hours my account was compromised. Email address and password changed, and an authenticator placed on my account.

And this is even after all the computers I had access to scanned clean of keyloggers/malware.

I know it happens. I hear it happening. I see it happening.

But what am I doin, right? Am I just lucky? Off the four people around me who play. All have been hacked once in the last 5 years,

I have not been hacked. Obviously. How am I getting “missed”? I have no authenticator.

The only nod to security I have used was, opening notepad on my laptop. Typing my password, then saving that to a USB key. Then opening that on my desktop. Starting the game, and cut and pasting the password in. And I only started that, a month or two ago.

Easiest way to get hacked seems to be to cancel your account and stop the billiing.

My Aion account got hacked last week. Haven't played since release and made the account with a junk gmail account. Bright side I guess I can thank those faggot chinamen for letting me know it's compromised.

I got banned from Project 1999 (EQ emulator) for ghost kill hacking. Is that the same thing?

Erzhan got banned for doing that a long time ago during OoW...running around EQ with hacks was a lot of fun though.

Before the ghost killing we boxed a few characters and having a rogue dual wielding the 100/20 throwing stars from Plane of Hate getting machine gun Deadly Strikes on things was ridiculous and funny.
