Worth it? I hear a lot of people love it. Is it survival horror or just kill zombies?

Maybe I'd like to hear what real people think about it instead of reading game reviews?

It's get from point A to point B with 3 friends and survive. 4 scenario, 4 level each with a 5th level where you need to fend off waves of zombies while rescue is on the way.

There are not slowpokes zombies, they are "run fast" zombies. The game is really fun at Expert even if you "know" the stage, mobs don't always come running the same spot.

Free content expansion is coming soon. At 50% off it's a great deal. I bought it at release and i don't regret paying full price.

For 25 dollars you can't go wrong with this. It was worth 50 for sure. You may play it for a while then drift away, but it is one of those games you will come back to and have fun with again.

Playing the infected is pretty fun, if you run with a team that actually bothers with tactics. Having your boomers vomit on your smokers lashed targets or a prone survivor is instant comedy when up against a shitty survivor team. Killing them when they aren't even 10 steps out of the safe room is even better.

Listening to people get angry at you over chat when you pick up the rifle instead of the auto shottie is priceless also.

EDIT

Always shoot the cars to set off the car alarms. It's much more fun that way, no matter how loud people yell at you. It just means they were too stupid and took the automatic over the shotgun.

Absolutely best money I've spent on an FPS since TF2. It's a very good game, and lots of fun in Versus mode(provided you don't run into an overly retarded group).

For the first time in *ages* I can't just go buy any game I want willie nillie. I really wished I had gotten this with the first sale, and really weighed shelling out $50 on it, but decided to wait until I had my next paycheck in hand.

Then Gosthok told me about the sale and I bought it.

Totally worth it.

I'm not even an FPS fan, and this game fucking *rocks*. I'm on the 3rd stage of No Mercy right now.

I don't have this game yet. Friend has it for his 360, went over and played it- ton of fun. It is on my list of games to buy.

Was wondering, for those who have played both... get the 360 version when it drops in price, or get the computer version? I have a P4 2.8, 1.5 gig ram, geforce 7800 as far as basic specs go...

Just like TF2, it isn't worth playing unless it's PC. Console might get the content pack coming out, but honestly I don't care if they do or not since I never will play with them, and those four people don't matter. And in typical fashion, if you wait for the price drop, nobody is going to be playing anyway.

i think the co-op on xbox 360 is great, just as fun as on the PC. TF2 is a PC only game for me though.

The control scheme alone makes the PC version way better.

Disagreed, I prefer my FPS games w/ controllers. I prefer consoles in general because of their higher performance over 99% of computers. I think the controller scheme in Left 4 Dead is fine because it's not really a finely tuned system where you're sniping people. Same could be said for TF2, but TF2 just "feels" better on the PC, kinda like CS.

I look forward to looking at your accuracy percentage rating and total killshots =p

I seem to get carpal tunnel syndrome in my right forearm/wrist area while using a mouse when playing computer games (regardless of genre). Once in a great while I feel a slight tingling sensation in my right forearm if I have played console games for multiple hours on end.

Left 4 Dead seems to be the better choice on a PC because PC's are better for FPS. I get that, and for the most part I agree (mouse sensitivity, etc). But unless the difference is such a huge disparity that the console version is utter crap while the PC version is the most amazing visceral experience ever in gaming... I tend to go for the console due to the lack of pain I experience.

I am sure most of my PC pain problems are the way my mouse/keyboard/computer/desk/chair setup is. However I am 6'5" and I have a difficult time "fitting" in a standard regular computer desk. Chairs are not really made for tall people, nor are desks. If there was a way I could play w/o pain, then I would be a much greater PC user than I am. As it stands, I need to take constant breaks when playing PC games... and as you can imagine, it is hard to play a FPS when taking constant breaks.

Agreed. I have it both for my xbox and on the pc. Quite frankly, I have NO idea how anyone gets any accuracy at all with the console controls :p

Much easier to do with a mouse and button than two posts and a button.

It's a controller, not a clitoris, it's not hard to figure out.

My, aren't you the witty one.

I still maintain anything that requires aiming is going to be easier with a mouse than with a "one stick to look, one stick to aim" situation. And accuracy will be better as well.

So, how long did it take you to learn how to please a woman? You make it sound like you faced a few hardships. But, hey, that's fine, at least you had an easier time button mashing. :D

Nah, it just came off as a weird way to try and make a point ("Hai, think game pads are hard? Wait until you try sex!!! Now that's hard!"). =P

It is easier with a keyboard and mouse, but it's not hard with a controller either. Sure it takes some stick-fu training to start out, but once you get how everything works, it's easy to build skill.

Why change the title of the thread to Fallout 3 when the whole thread was about Left 4 Dead? Whouldn't it be more intelligent to start a new thread?

I connect a 360 controller to my PC for my shooters. It is eventually better if you decide to improve your skill with it.

No. In the case of controller vs mouse for a FPS game there is no other possible answer.

Exactly how playing super mario bros is better with a controller than a keyboard.

find me a comfortable way to play an FPS with a keyboard and mouse while sitting on my couch and then I might agree with you.
