I just purchased a new motherboard from MSI. It is the Z87-G45 and comes equipped with a Killer e2200 Ethernet controller. The computer does not recognize my Ethernet cable connected to it. I have downloaded the drivers that came with the motherboard's cd. I have used the beta drivers from the website by downloading them to a USB drive, I have used the non beta drivers also.

Should I RMA the board? I have googled to see if others have encountered similar problems and it is only Linux computers that don't recognize the Ethernet.

Thanks,
Bigteeth

What does device manager say about the network card?

I'm assuming you're running windows, not linux. :p

Yup, running Windows 7. Device manager said the proper drivers were installed, that the controller was working fine and that it was enabled. I fixed it by changing the ethernet cable. For some reason the old ethernet wire worked fine on the other motherboard and two different laptops. But it refused to work with the e2200. It's odd...

I would assume that this card is probably more picky about signals it will accept, since it's advertised as a gamer's card.
