I bought a new iPad. I've never had an apple product before. Why did I buy an iPad instead of a Transformer Prime or waiting for Windows 8 tablets? I don't know, I like the screen, and some apps are cool.

Now, I'm trying to add my music to the iPad, and of course I must use iTunes. I hate iTunes.

On my android phone, I can easily access all the folders and drop things in them from my computer and from Windows Media Player. I can add music to the music folder, and pictures to the pictures folder and so on. However, on the iPad, I only have access to the pictures folder. So to add music, I must sync it with iTunes. But every time I sync it, I must sync 100% of the items checked. If I decide I only want to add Disc #2, and I have Disc #1, Disc #3, and Disc #4 in the iPad, I need to add all of them. If I only add #2, it deletes all the other ones.

Is there a way I can just access the folders from my computer and drag-and-drop things into them? Jailbreak?

How do you do it?

You have to use itunes to load your music on the ipad, even when jailbroken, unless you use one of the alternate music players, like spotify. Spotify will sync into it's own app via wifi.

I don't load my music onto my ipad, I just use Spotify/Pandora to stream music. The only reason I bought a 32gb ipad is to load a crapton of iTunes U lessons from Khan Academy to it, along with technical pdfs and kindle books.

You can set itunes to not delete what you are not transfering in the options, forgot where but it can be done.

It could be done before but i dont see where now...

I'll keep searching for that option Fin, but I haven't found it either.

I guess my problem is this: I don't want to have my iPad delete everything, and add it all again, just to add random songs from time to time.

Under options you can just have Itunes sync playlist and I would just use that to store what you want. This way it only syncs the playlists and leaves everything else on the computer.
