I feel that I am going to have to purchase a new mother board for the process I bought on a newegg.com deal of the day.

This is my Motherboard
ECS P965T-A (V1.0) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813135022
Under specs it can be compatible with
CPU Socket Type: LGA 775
CPU Type: Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Celeron
FSB: 1066/800MHz
Supported CPU Technologies: Hyper-Threading Technology

This is the new Processor I purchase
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Wolfdale 2.93GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Core: Wolfdale
Multi-Core: Dual-Core
Name: Pentium Dual-Core E6500
Operating Frequency: 2.93GHz
FSB: 1066MHz

My old Processor is a E6300 1.86GHZ processor dual core aswell.

The new processor will not run on this motherboard but I thought it would be compatible, I flash and updated the BIOS to see if that would fix it but it didnt. Anyone have any suggestions what else I should do before I have to go and purchase a new Motherboard.

If you flashed it to 1.0b (seems to be the latest revision of bios on the ECS website) and it still didn't work then I'd say you're out of luck and need a motherboard :(

What errors are you getting, any beeps lights, etc?

That board should be fully compatible with that processor.
Double check your power connections and your 8pin connector.

Try putting your old processor back in and booting to the bios then reset the bios to defaults, turn off and put the new processor in.

I updated the BIOS for the board didn't fix anything, Put the old processor back in no issues (using it atm) when I put the new processor in the computer does not boot up just hangs no beeps or LED light indicators on the board.

I did a side by side comparison on the two processors and only real difference is that the old one is 65NM and the new one is 45NM.

Thanks for the tips Khan I am going to reset the bios to defaults and try again, also My computer has a 20Pin and 2 4 pins should I plug them all in if the motherboard has room (have one 4 pin not plugged in)

Specs say it has a 24pin Power connector. Did you take the cover off of the extra 4 pin holes on the power slot and connect the extra 4pin connector to the power lead?

Looking at the board layout, it has an 8pin slot. Maybe try hooking the 2 4 pin connectors together and try that. (Make sure the 2 4pin connectors aren't labeled PCIE, those are for video cards)

From the manual:
Make sure to connect a 4-pin ATX power cable
to ATX4P1; otherwise, the system will be unstable.

This is the connector that looks like a regular 4 pin female Molex connector. Connect a lead from the power supply there as well.

I will put the extra 4 pin into the area and reset the Bios, the 8 pin slot does not fit with them both together it connects to the 20 pin connector.

Will try this when I get some time off this week again. Thanks Again Khan glad Im not dumb and purchase the wrong processor (yet) lol

Performed a multitude of tests, ended up just upgrading my entire system for about $200.00 (keeping parts from old and mixing with new)

Works now. Thanks for all the troubleshooting tips :)
