I got a sudden urge to play a few slightly older games, so I installed Overlord and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 onto my other computer.

When I run the programs, SecuROM (damn them to hell, but anyway) kicks in with the error that says essentially, "You are using a copy, please put the original disc in." The thing is, I AM using the original discs, and both games were purchased legally.

I've been looking around for a solution. Some websites point out that SecuROM doesn't like alcohol 120 or Daemon tools. I did have Alchohol installed on that computer at one point, but it's been uninstalled.

One final point-- the computer in question is not connected to the internet, and won't be. Any solution involving downloading files will require me to transfer the files via flash drive.

Can anyone help?

If you had alcohol installed at any point, the chances are the driver is still there, which makes securom think that you're using a copy, even if you're not.

use revo uninstaller to clean up anything alcohol related and you SHOULD be good to go.

I downloaded revo uninstaller and tried to use it, but it appears to need to know the original path for alcohol or anything else I want to uninstall completely. However, I've already uninstalled Alcohol, several months ago and I don't remember.

I did find and remove the program folders for Alcohol which were still there. This made Roller Coaster Tycoon work, but Overlord is still being a bitch. I also found and deleted a registry entry for Alcohol, but still no luck.

Well, I got it working thanks to a crack at Digilos' website.

Thanks!
