Ok, I've about given up trying to hold this guys hand through all of this shit.

Anyone here who is great at .NET, ASP.NET or CF want to come to Indy for a week/weekend and get this project off the ground?

Leo? Elle? Van?

Here is the outline of the initial project. IM me with any questions or if it is something you might want to do shoot me a price.

These are the best ideas I have at this time. New or better ideas are welcome. Simple solutions are typically better if it meets our criteria for data security and HIPAA compliance. Any additions to this spec are shown in Bold and Italics

I. Dynamic User Ids
• Employees: based on McKesson status=Active and valid email address.
• Employee Login Id will be McKesson UserId, first 4 of last name + first 2 of first Name. If this is not unique enough we could add 2, 3 or 4 digits of their SSN.
• Patient: based on McKesson status=Active and valid TCHHS.net email address.
• Patient Login Id: first 4 of last name + first 2 of first Name. If this is not unique enough we could add 2, 3 or 4 digits of their SSN.

II. Secure Login
• Password: Alpha-numeric combination, 4-6 Alpha & 1-2 numeric. Accept caps as non-capitalized, prefer not caps sensitive, this tends to confuse many users.
• Prompts for password reset after 60 days.
• Encrypt passwords to data file and block letters as being typed on screen. ***** or ######. Standard stuff
• Password reset feature. Automatic or Administrator intervention required.
• Confirm password and account status changes by sending an email to a valid email address.
• All web pages require a security check. No direct link to any page.
• All inactive sessions will logout after 20 minutes of session inactivity.

III. Employee and Patient schedule view
• Standardized calendars 2009 and beyond (identify company holidays with an icon)
• User can only see their associated calendar, via global variable from secure login.
• Monthly containing text (portrait view)
Abbreviated Patient name, start and end time.
• Weekly containing text (landscape view)
Abbreviated Patient name, start and end time
Ie. Baker,John 6AM-4PM 10 hrs
• Daily or 3 day: landscape view with full patient name, start and end time
Shift hours totaled
• All calendars are User Friendly Printable

Doesn't sound all that complicated. What's holding things up?

Question about Section I... Do you have all this data, and if so, where?

Damn, either I or my wife could help you, but if it's McKesson we'd both have contractual issues with my old company GHX (which McKesson uses quite a bit for supply chain) preventing that =/

If I hadn't just started a 60 day, 3000 server data center move, I could do it, but not in ASP or .NET

What's holding things up is I am a hardware/network guy and don't like to code. The buy we hired TO do the code turns out to be more of an html guy and access guy than an aspx, .net guy.

The data is pulled from an SQL 2000 .db everything except for the email addresses are in there. We are in the process of finding a blank spot in the HR section to put their email address in. It isn't so much for the employees as it is for the patients.

And I agree, it is pretty straight forward. It's not like we are reinventing the wheel or anything. The guy just can't seem to get off the ground.

What we are doing is pulling our info out of the .db Ele, not trying to change the mckesson side in any way, in fact you wouldn't ever be IN mckesson. We have all the queries written in access already, just a matter of making them work in an web application.

Seriously, as soon as possible. Gimme an idea on what your price would be, Leo.

The powers that be are getting ready to run adds for ASP, .NET and CF programmers on Monster and career builders and /shudder craigs list...

Does it need to be web, or would you prefer a UI? Thats so nutty cause if the guy was moderate he could easily Google ALL of what you have above...

Tell him to work 1 part at a time, it sounds like a lot but its really just a few subroutines... Much smaller then alot of the programs ive written :P

plus .net is pretty easy heh

oops, i haven't been around, sorry for bumping old shit!

let me know if you need some sample code.. I wrote some for work about 3 months ago to interact (insert and query) with a SQL 2005 server, so its still pretty fresh... Or at least just give the guy some ideas :P
