I'm looking for people who have experience crafting emails sent to mass lists. Emails would be sent to people within the organization or who've signed up on our list or through affiliated organizations.

Working on a comprehensive list of best practices that would cover the full process and looking for some more input.

Sounds like you're looking for a LISTSERV. You could go with Major Domo or LSoft.

Unless you're asking more on how to create a newsletter. Not much advice I could give there, other than make sure it's as small as you can get it so you don't overload your mail server.

No, I'm not looking for a listserv. I've used them for over a decade (damn that's scary).
