I'm not sure what the correct term would be but I'm wondering how I might go about accomplishing the following.

I would like to take a floor plan of our building and create a mouseover on each desk location that would have information for that particular user (User name, Extension, Computer Name, etc). The only thing is that I would like to be able to edit this information as needed.

I've attached a file that as an example. I know it would be MUCH more complicated than this but I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what I'm looking for so I know where to start. A coworker at a previous employer created something similar and I believe he used Flash.

Any help to get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Could always use an image map and the link would bring up a javascript box w/ the persons information.

Flash would work well too I don't know flash but I know stuff like that is easily done. I am sure Adobe PDF would work too, because you could stick a "note" tab on an area and that would contain the info.

Many ways of doing it, I don't know exact / specific ways though. GL.

I used this with an image map, pretty much exactly what you wanted.

Edit: The balloon tooltip extension will give you exactly what you wanted, actually.

You could do that by overlaying a graphic on a Google Map.

You could also do that with tagging in Facebook.

Although I'm not sure if your employer would appreciate that.
