You'd rather sit at a desk, captive, then be able to game or surf on your couch, at Taco Bell or somewhere else?

Guess I've just gotten used to it from working on one for so long. In this day and age, desktops seem totally pointless. Especially if you don't game.

I game on the same PC I played EQ on (in 2002), with only a video card upgrade. The laptop I bought in 2004 has gone through a battery, an LCD, and a keyboard.

When I'm not in my apartment or at work I'd prefer to not even look at a computer. Especially during the summer. ;)

Yup. I have a nice comfy chair, when I actually want to game, I'll sit at home in my comfortable setup and play.

I have a nice comfy couch too, for when I'm running dailies or playing an alt, I'll game from my couch so I can properly veg out and not have to sit upright, kthx.

I think the macbook pro has spoiled me. Built in mic, great video card, large screen and relatively small. Just hook up a trackball and it's pretty much identical to a more traditional desk setup.

I've played WoW in hotel rooms, airports, etc.. Can't be beat. You get used to the keyboard quickly enough.

I've yet to see a built in mic that's worth a fuck, in *anything* webcams, laptops, whatever.

How much would you have to pay to get a notebook simliar to the performance level?

Gaming is not only thing that requirement CPU task; I do a lot of photo processing, converting from RAW to Tiff then Tiff to Jpg with frame. Those are some CPU intensive task.

That a P182 case?

Hopefully your front USB ports aren't as shitty as mine..

I've had the plastic break off twice (inside the connector) in 6 months.

No undue stress, just plugging in/out my headset and the shitty things break~

Have to lug one back and forth from work to home and back to work, since I am production support. Whenever I end up getting paged at home. It is a royal pain in the you know where haing to use the dumb keyboard and touch pad. UUGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

No space to plug in a regular keyboard or mouse. since I sit on the floor if I have to use the dumb thing. :pukeleft:

I use to be a die-hard desktop kinda guy... I have been using my laptop more, and I'm hooked. I am trying to unload my desktop now to go towards a new laptop fund.

I have a 15.4 widescreen on my current laptop, and will definitely look for a larger widescreen next time. The screen size makes a BIG difference to me.

I pretty much quit gaming at this point, and I don't do any video editing etc... so sitting on my couch with my laptop is good times.

I do want a less hot one next time. This shit blows 140 degree air out onto my mouse hand. This laptop I have now is quite possibly the most retardedly engineered laptop ever designed.

Get a laptop cooler that sits underneath it. They work wonders.

The best solution is to have both a laptop and a desktop. Especially if your employer provides one of the two!

Also, is it me, or are those DIMM slots hugenormous?

I switched to gaming on a laptop about a year ago and haven't looked back since.

I don't have a laptop that touches what Vana is using, but for the stuff I play it works great and has a gorgeous screen.
