Microcenter has E8400s on sale at their B&M stores for $189 so I picked one up, but the motherboards there didn't seem to be as good deals, and I wasn't quite sure which ones supported 45nm CPUs, so I left with CPU but no motherboard or memory.
Anyway, I don't need SLI or RAID. I do need one that'll at least boot up with a 45nm CPU. I don't think I need DDR3 compatibility since DDR3 memory is a lot more expensive for what I can only assume would be minimal overall performance gains. One that's good for tinkering with overclocking be good, too.
