Problem is most of the good chairs are 300+ bucks from what I've seen. Most of the storebought stuff either breaks or the cushion compresses till your ass is getting stabbed by the frame bolts lol.

I saw this one, and it looked pretty decent.

I bought that exact chair about a year ago. It's pretty sturdy, although a bit stiff (I like to recline). Haven't had any problems with it at all though. My previous chair was from OfficeMax, I had to frequently re-tighten the screws or they would start popping out. That hasn't been a problem with this chair.

Although for an "office" chair it does look a little goofy with that racing strip.

I think it looks pretty sweet. My office is very modern so I think that chair would be a good fit.

Lots of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia on the walls?

The BEST chairs I've seen to date were ...oddly enough... in the Air Force. They were these black chairs with like 20 ergonomic adjustments. Instead of cushions they had these vinyl "hammocks" on the seat and backrest and an adjustable headrest.....Things had to be ridiculously expensive.

Nope... I can take a picture later I suppose. I am not a fan of nascar, unfortunately.

Aeron or somesuch... If you really want a nice chair thats comfortable... Get one of those. Of course they cost an arm and a leg for the real ones.

I was at the store on Wednesday night, and they had it selling for 159.99$ in store, so I went online and checked the price and it was 134.99$, so I just bought it online and did store pick-up. It's pretty awesome, real comfortable, and matches my office great. I don't care about the race stripe but I think the color scheme is awesome. I love that shade of blue.

The Steelcase Leap chair is a strong alternative to the Aeron if you don't find it comfortable enough or want something a little more conservative-looking.

The Steelcase Think is a less-expensive alternative. Still may run you a few hundred dollars though.

Chairs are very personal items for those of us who use them for extended periods. Body type and intended use may move you in the direction of a certain type of chair, but you've gotta try them out to really know what's best for you.

I bought a super nice leather chair, and shelled out a lot of money for it. I even tried it first, and loved it.

The thing was like a torture machine. My back was so out of whack after I used it all day. It sits in my office unused, with crap piled on it. Instead I continue to use a rather wide chair from the 1960s which swivels. I've had to repair it multiple times...but it is the best goddamn chair I've ever used.

I've also thought about getting one of those ball chairs, which are supposed to be good for your back, but it would probably drive me nuts, or I'd fall off it or something.

tarot, I dont know how bad the pain was, but sometimes your body needs to adjust to new chairs, you might consider giving it another go - it will probably hurt like hell for a few days, but then you will be fine.

I have had the same chair for years - a high back "leather" executive chair. The most important feature of a chair to me is the padded arm rest.

I actually broke mine awhile back (the base) but it was still in good shape so I just kept my eye out in the thrift stores and curbs for a suitable base.

I am about do for a new one I think, this one is starting to become uncomfortable - but it still looks good. I think I paid about 199 or so for it at one of the office stores back in probably 2001 or so. I don't mind spending money on a good chair since I spend about 8 hours a day there, or more. Kind of like beds, I don't have a problem spending money on a good bed / bedding since I spend a good bit of time there.

Is it just me or does that chair have ob-gyn footpads? I'm sure it's comfy and all, but I don't particularly want a chair that brings back memories of the annual exam.

We have all Aeron chairs in my office.

When I first started here, I thought they looked cheap and uncomfortable. Mostly plastic, with no padding on the back.

They work pretty good though. Maybe it's conditioning, but I still feel like it should have some kind of pad on the back, even if that's not ergonomically correct.

I don't know if I'd spend that much for one though!
