I've been googling around and found only trials and junk, anyone know a decent mpeg converter. Thanks for the help : )

That's pretty sweet. Does it encode stuff to divx/xvid? (I didn't browse the features list too thoroughly, on my way to lunch!)

No, I believe only directshow compatible formats.
