In 2002, Scott Leberecht directed a film adaptation of The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special as part of the American Film Institute's director's studies program. Andrew Bryniarski stars as Lobo, with Tom Gibis as the Easter Bunny and Michael V. Allen as Santa Claus. The film is true to the integrity of the comic on which it's based and as close to the source material as other revered CBMs, such as, Robert Rodriguez's Sin City or Zach Snider's Watchmen. It's hard to believe that a short 10 minute comic book film can turn out so much better than some feature length comic book based movies. With any luck Lobo will make his big screen debut, before comic book movie adaption's slow down or (hopefully not) become an extinct genre. If you haven't seen the short film adaption, you can watch it on you tube. Ho-ho-fraggin'-ho!!!
