This description is missing an implementation layer. The king can decide what's ethical, but he needs the priesthood to sell it to the masses. Ultimately the power is a balance between the "definers" as described, and the people who actually build the reward system to the definers' specifications. At the limit described in the last panel, for example, nothing stops the priesthood from assassinating the royal family. You have to keep them happy, and that means the two groups can be set to watching each other.

I can't remember the name of it, but I read a sci-fi book a few years ago that had the idea of "life as a video game" for all of a future society. It was ok, especially at first, but I remember it kind of devolved.

So, rather than say "hey guys, you should check out this comic" and link to the author's website (which will then make them money from ad impressions and possible clicks), you hotlink the images?

And then, since they're tall comics, you make this thread a scrollercaust instead of putting them behind spoiler tags?
