Whether you read the comics or not, this is worth seeing. There are a couple of clear candidates for main character, but no one really dominates the storyline. Special effects are nice -- but if you're a military hardware buff, you'll need to suspend some disbelief about when some weapons and vehicles were actually invented.

Of all comic origin stories, I always love the villains' the best. I was not disappointed.

I honestly think it was the best entry for a "mutant" movie yet. Light years better than the atrocity that was x1-3 and wolverine. :p

Are there continuity issues? did they muck with powers? Sure. But at this point, after the 4 horror shows before this one, did you really expect there not to be?

I liked it. In the end, the focus on Xavier/Magneto (and by extention, Raven) was what took this to a good spot for me. The actor playing Magneto owned the show, frankly. This makes me hopeful for a better play out of future movies.

That's good, I'm glad they didn't go with the "popular character will be the main character" schtick like they did with the Bryan Singer movies. The comics were rarely Wolverine And Some Other X-Men, and I hated that the movies were like that.

I'm also going to look for more stuff Michael Fassbender(Magneto) is in as well. I agree his was the best performance in the movie.

You can't go wrong with his performance in Inglourious Basterds.

I can't in good conscience go see this in the theatre. The previous movies were just so bad. I'll rent this.

I never read the comics so I guess I don't know any better but... I didn't really have any problems with the previous movies.

I didn't really have a problem with the first two except for the spotlight placed on Wolverine. X-men 3 was garbage and X-Men Origins was... okay, but I'm not sure that they know they screwed up their continuity...

Wolverine always sold the most action figures, so they put the focus on him for the first few movies based on the assumption that they'd make more money in Taco Bell promotions than on the movie. That would have worked fine twenty-five years ago.

I don't know who they had to fire in order to make that stop, but they did it. The focus shifts very well between characters, although there are apparently two tiers; three or four characters get noticeably more attention than the others.

The Wolverine presence in this movie brought a rather large laugh from the audience.

It also seems to indicate this is not a universe reboot. More like a.. Star wars style... prequel to the movies X 1-3.

They aren't getting rid of those movies, just changing the focus to building up to them.

This was the first of all of the movies so far that actually seemed like the comics. Most notably at the end the way Magneto's line is delivered, I could see "Magneto" in the stylized red and purple characters and 3/4 frame text bubble.

This movie was a 10/10 for me, one of the best movies I've seen in years; definitely on par with the likes of Iron Man and Dark Knight.
