Well I've seen 9 of those movies and I'm going to #7 on the list tonight, but I've listened to none of those songs.

Kanye West is the biggest thing happening in music now, Vampire Weekend had one of the best-selling albums of the year, and The Roots are Jimmy Fallon's show band. OK Go is always all over the radio. Not knowing about the rest of them can be forgiven, but I'm a music nerd.

I'll get back to you when more of these are up on Netflix.

The Roots were a big fucking deal long before Jimmy Fallon =P I know you know this, but I have to clarify. They're pioneers.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it overrated. I am extremely skeptical every time Kanye West makes something new because he's such a ridiculous person, but his product has been consistently amazing.

I, for once, agree with randy.

Kanye's new album is one of the best R&B albums I've ever listened to.

Couldn't you also say that just because you like it doesn't mean it isn't overrated?

Yeah sure, but at that point, everything dies in a recursive storm of overrated-ness.

I'd give you that maybe he's the hottest thing in the world of rap/rb (I wouldn't know), but I think he's a completely overrated artist when you widen that circle to include other musical genres.

That being said, Niki's verse on "Monster" is sick. Talk about showing up your haters. heh.

Kayne has maybe 6 great songs. The rest are garbage. There are no Kanye albums I can listen to like many other great artists from Song 1 to the end. (The Streets is a far better musician than Kanye.)

I trust the opinion of people who say they appreciate Kanye's music much more than the opinion of someone who bashes his music. Good music is good music, regardless of what you think of the man behind the music.

the only person I see making a comment about Kayne the person and not Kayne as an artist (ie, his music) is Randy's "he's a ridiculous person".

That's reasonable.

I admit he has some good songs. But in my opinion, his albums aren't consistent quality from point A to point B though. I appreciate a wide variety of music, and I am into hip-hop, I just don't think he's very consistent. Has nothing to do with him personally.

Carry on.
