It was a free download for my kindle but never intended to read it, after a week of it sitting there, I was bored one night so started into it.

It took about a month of reading and about 5 kindle recharges, its a very long book, or books as it is broken down by books and chapters and 2 epilogues that could be small books in there own right.

The story was pretty decent, you follow 4 or 5 russian families through the period of 1804ish through to 1820 during the Napoleonic wars.

I loved this view of history of the period through a Russians perspective, and found it interesting due to being broken up by the story of the families.

I did find the authors repetitive analogies about the war and history boring though, and could of saved off a few books without them. In fact the 2nd epilogue was insane with repetitive analogies.

I never thought I would read War and Peace but now that I have done so I would recommend it as a epic read for anyone who is interested in a good story with a mix of history.

War and Peace
By Leo Tolstoy

History controls everything we do, so there is no point in observing individual actions. Let's examine the individual actions of over 500 characters at great length.

THE END
