Very good movie. Excellent story. I thought I got it a third to half way through, but the ending was a surprise. Long movie too, although it did not feel long at all- great editing. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it to anyone. It isn't a scary movie, more of a great suspense/thriller.

This is one of those movies I can't imagine how I could like it. Lump it in with Gothica and all those other horrible "ghosts when you blink" movies. Although, I see it's at 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, which surprises me.

I've got the book in my to-be-read list (which thanks to the Kindle has grown bigger than my video game backlog). I figure by the time the DVD is available I'll have read it. The same with The Lovely Bones.

Saw the movie a few weeks ago and read part of the book when my girlfriend picked it up. It's not a bad movie, overall. My reaction to it was that it was a well done version of a classic story. The acting is great, the atmosphere and pacing are well done. Just don't expect any surprises. It's remarkably predictable. I almost felt like I was following along with an archetype plot guidebook or something, complete with "insert twist here" toward the end.

A fun watch, just don't hope for too much.

I didn't like it, and it's because of guessing the end way too early. I knew going in there was a big twist in it, and as soon as he got off the boat in the first 5 minutes and the guards were nervous I guessed what the end was going to be. So, I spent the rest of the movie just waiting for it to end and confirm my guess.

The best line in the movie is the very last one. Other than that... I was very disappointed.
