Check this shit out. It's awesome. New showtime program. About 7 episodes so far.

Jackie is played by the wife from the Sopranos (carmella? carmello? something like that). Basic plot is that she's an nurse that has a bad back and is addicted to painkillers as a result. To keep her supply going, she's having an affair with the pharmacist. Juggling her responsibilities as the ER nurse, her addiction, her affair, and her life with her husband and 2 kids while just trying to help people (in some pretty unconventional ways sometimes) makes for a surprisingly awesome show when it is written as well as this one is.

I don't tend to go for medical dramas. This one seems to be less about the medical and more about the people.

And it has some truly awesome lines...

Jackie: "what do you have against helping people?"
Doctor Friend: "Ah, yes. That right there. Helping. Healing. That's why you're a nurse. Me? When I was a kid, I cut open a dead rabbit with a butter knife to see how it worked. That is why I'm a doctor."

Give the first couple of episodes a shot. If you don't like it by the end of 2 or 3, you can probably stop, it doesn't get much different from there.

I'm still on the fence. I really like some of the characters, even though sometimes the conversations seem a bit awkward.

I have a crush on the semi-hot british doctor though.
