AKA We need more content. ;)

Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind seeing and comparing some "top five" lists here for movies, television, music, comics, etc. Doesn't matter what it is as long as it's entertainment/pop culture stuff. To get things going:

Top Five Movies with a "Twist Ending"
5. Identity - Loved the idea behind it and genuinely didn't see it coming.
4. The Others - Good movie, even if I guessed what was up about 2/3 of the way through.
3. The Usual Suspects - A great story told to begin with, but the ending just makes it that much better.
2. Fight Club - Another one that you could see coming, but it didn't take anything away from the movie. It just gave it this foreboding sense as the pieces fell into place.
1. The Sixth Sense - As much as Shyamalan has sucked balls for his past few movies (Unbreakable being the only other movie of his I really enjoyed, and it had a twist of its own), his first movie is great. The twist at the end is one of the best-executed of all time.

I don't have 5, but Memento caught me by surprise. I really didn't expect the last parts of the movie.

I would also add Reservoir Dogs to the list of movies with a twist ending.

I can't argue with that list at all, except perhaps Dumb and Dumber. I'd replace that with Liar Liar.

Its' weird, I guessed what was going on in Identity really early. Go figure. In any case, it's still a good list. =)

You guessed that all the different characters were really just different personalities in the psyche of a jailed murderer? Go buy lotto tickets, now.

Oddly enough, the one that everyone raves about on that list is the one that I liked least. I went in to 6th Sense knowing that there was a twist, but not what it was. All of my friends were telling me it was a great twist and I'd be so surprised. Just knowing that there was a surprise ending at all made it transparently obvious. I guessed the ending within 10 minutes of the movie starting. As such, I don't really have fond memories.

The one that I liked was the original "Saw", bad acting and all. I didn't see that one coming at all, and it was fun times. Still one of my favorite of the newer style horrow movies. Too bad the later ones turned to crap.

And now my top 5 list of kids shows that I have to watch with my daughter.

1) Spongebob
2) Chowder
3) Fairly Odd Parents
4) Johnny Test
5) iCarly

I don't know, it was weird. Normally I Suck at catching twists, but for some reason this one just kinda dawned on me early.

really? I am endlessly surprised by this when people say it, given the fact that as the opening credits are rolling, you hear the doctor ask "Ok, so who am I speaking to now?"

They gave it away in the first 30 seconds. :p

You didn't see that one coming because they used the device I hate the most (someone called it the Bones villian in another thread), but they cheated. Guessing that it was some old dude laying in a bed but you're never ACTUALLY introduced too? Leaves no chance for the audience to guess who it was. It may as well have been some nurse that passed by the doctor in the hallway. I forgave them, though, because in the end it wasn't about who did it but those lovely puzzles for me.

I didn't really think of him as the old dude in the bed, but more as the guy laying in the room with them the whole time. Watching it later, you see him move all the time and I can't believe I never noticed, but it just wasn't something I was looking for.

2. Dances with Wolves
3. I am Sam
4. Braveheart
5. LOTR: The Return of the King

Agreed on that list. I wasn't that fond of Dances with Wolves, but I can see how others would enjoy it. But, it gives me an idea for another list:

Top 5 Kevin Costner Movies
5. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - To be honest, I mostly liked this because of Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman, but that's just quibbling.
4. The Bodyguard - I shouldn't admit that I like this movie, but I do.
3. The Untouchables - Classic, one of the best gangster movies ever made.
2. The Postman - This is one of my guilty pleasures, I really do love this movie.
1. Field of Dreams - One of the best movies ever. And I'm not even a baseball fan.

Are those all in Syndication? I know they show Heroes reruns on other channels, but I've not seen the others on any but their primary station.

Perhaps I used syndication incorrectly. I meant still airing new episodes.

With On-demand, Hulu, websites like nbc.com, and good old-fashioned illegal downloads, I'd say all of those are "in syndication" in the [not-so-] traditional sense as well.

Ever seen "Paint Your Wagon" Fribur? Really the only musical I've ever enjoyed (unless you count the South Park movie).

Top 5 Musicals:

1. Rent
2. Wicked
3. Avenue Q
4. BIlly Elliot
5. Jesus Christ Superstar

For me, I have a hard time with the older 1950s-1970s musicals. I won't go so far as to say they aren't good, just that I don't enjoy them. Rent makes the top of my list because it did something unique that other musicals since have played on...it actually broke the mold of following the musical format of the last 30 years and actually used CONTEMPORARY music. It was awesome.

Jesus Christ Superstar is really the only older musical that gets a pass from me. But then, I'm a sucker for that song "I don't know how to love him" and Herod's number.

If we are including movies, Moulin Rouge would bump JCS, despite the fact none of it is original music. The tango roxanne and the (un)intentional power of moments like "The Show Must Go On" outweigh that fact for me.

I don't generally have time to catch a lot of television, but I do work three night shifts a week in which I'm doing almost nothing for 7 hours or so. So, I spend a lot of time catching up on shows I've missed. With that in mind...

Top Five Shows I Watch on Hulu
5. Mail Call - R. Lee Ermey just cracks me up.
4. Warehouse 13 - Newer show, but it's entertaining so far.
3. Royal Pains - Great show! Each episode has been very enjoyable and I like the direction.
2. Kings - It's a damned shame that this show isn't going to have a second season, because the first has been awesome. It's a gorgeous show and the acting is great.
1. The Listener - Sure, it can be a little hokey at times and the characters need some room to grow, but I'm glued to it so far.
