I figure this deserves it's own thread. I guess this review is peppered with spoilers... sorta... I reveal some of the basics of the skits.

I was bummed at what a turd this movie was. I sorta want to say I hated it, but I think that would be a compliment. Overall, I was bored, and even though "I get it", I didn't really get it. Maybe this means I'm officially liberal - but showing me dicks and flaming homosexual activities is really not all that shocking to me.

I realize (or at least hope) that Cohen wasn't looking to advance gay rights, but I think he was trying to comment (a little) on the stupid hypocrisy and homophobia of America. But, I simply didn't see his point.

For example, the Ron Paul scene - I don't get what the big deal is. You have an old guy running for President trying to get some publicity and a gay guy hits on him, dropping his pants. I am not shocked, I am simply annoyed at the absolute lack of humor. When Paul finally says "this guy is freaking queer" or whatever, there was a subtle gasp of "OMG" in theater. Am I supposed to think Paul is a dirtbag? If you were in a room and someone straight dropped their pants right in front of you, wouldn't you have some sort of negative reaction?

They show flamingly gay videos to a focus group and people are uncomfortable... so what? If you showed ridiculously straight sex or racy material, most middle aged people woudl have the same reaction. I just don't get what my reaction was supposed to be.

If an unattractive woman wakes you up at 2:30 and 3:30 in the morning (one time completely naked), wouldn't you get pissed off? Hell, if my wife wakes me up at 2:30 with a blowjob, I am annoyed.

Ultimately, I was just bored. I remember Borat being funny. I didn't even know they were real people until about halfway through. I simply thought the situations were humorous. This was simply a one-trick pony of "OMG HE IS SUPER QUEER."

Anyway, I would recommend seeing the Hangover a second or third time before wasting time on this.

Based on what I've both read and heard, most of the 'GOTCHA' moments were so outrageously staged/provoked that they're meaningless and ultimately not very funny. Heard it's got a few funny moments, and that's it.

Is it just me, or is this guy really just doing the same characters over with a different gimmick each time?

I dunno. All his stuff just seems really familiar.
