Deadpool was really the only saving grace of that movie, so creating a movie around him isn't a bad idea.

Not to mention that he's consistently one of the funniest characters in comics.

Anything that involves more (shirtless) Ryan Reynolds works for me.

This is a GREAT idea. It's a great idea because:

1) X-men: Apocalypse, Last Stand, Trinity or what the fuck ever cliche it was called was a GREAT movie.
2) It was such a great movie that we had to take a concept that worked great for OTHER franchies, like star wars, and make prequels - another GREAT idea.
3) They then made Wolverine, which by all accounts is a GREAT movie.
4) From all these GREAT ideas spawns a spinoff of a B, maybe C-level comic book star, thus creating the trifecta of total assramming suck! Hooray!

Oh, and i forgot to add one final element to my list of GREAT ideas. Casting Ryan Reynolds, who has made every single movie he's been in be totally fucking completely awful. Seriously, go look at his movies. Damn.

Sorry, you can't lay the blame for Wolverine at his feet. As I said, Deadpool was really the only entertaining part of that movie. And he was good in Blade Trinity, too (though the Hannibal King character was essentially just a Deadpool knockoff).

I can agree with Sinister, but Apocalypse fucking sucks.

And they'd never do either one right anyway.

Generally, you can tell it is a bad movie from the trailer and the early reviews...

I've always liked Apocalypse. He's just never been treated as a top bad guy. Well, not since the Age of Apocalypse anyways.

I liked the concept behind apocalypse, but the x-men cartoon in the mid 90s ruined him for me =/

Never really watched it. Saw the first couple of episodes (I had them on VHS as part of some Pizza Hut promotion... in fact... (checks) Holy shit, I still have them.)

Pick up the Age of Apocalypse storyline. GREAT storytelling, and the art is pretty fantastic as well. One of the best alternate timelines ever done in comics, let alone Marvel.

Sometimes, and the same thing happens with good movies and bad trailers. But, now that information flows so fast because of the internet, a combination of both trailers and opinions on message boards or even critic sites (usually agree more with comments on message boards than critics myself, especially when it comes to action movies), you can get a pretty good idea if you will enjoy a movie or not. You really can avoid spending 10 dollars and walking out unhappy, I really don't remember when's the last time I did.

Was Age of Apocalypse the storyline that had the 4 Horsemen of Apocalypse? Angel, Plague, War, and I forget the fourth one...

That was a cool storyline I thought.

No, Age of Apocalypse was when Xavier's son went back in time and killed Xavier, and Apocalypse ended up taking over the world. Magneto became leader of the X-men, Cyclops was a villain serving under Sinister, and other mix-ups along those lines.

Yeah, Taborcarn has it right. His Four Horsemen existed in AoA, but they were entirely different. Sabertooth is a good guy. Beast, Havok, and Cyclops are bad guys. Magneto leads the X-Men and is married to Rogue. Apocalypse rules North America, while the humans still hold sway in Europe. Bishop is caught in the time backlash because he was already a time traveler and is the only one that remembers the "real" timeline. It's a great story.
