Everyone has different taste (obviously), but I thought Rocky II was great. Him trying to become an actor "smeel mainly? isn't that supposed to be smell manly?" and finally getting the ok from Adrian to fight "win.. WIN." The training he did with the awe-inspiring Rocky theme music playing? Running through town with the kids following him? Him beating the 10 count as you counted along with the referee? "Yo, Adrian, I did it!" Yea, I could watch that over and over.

ps: The "bad guy" in Rocky IV was Ivan Drago. I don't need wikipedia to know that it was Dolph Lundgren (and Brigitte Nielsen as his wife, woo hoo!).

pps: R.I.P. Apollo. :(

None of the Rocky movies disappointed me. Maybe V a little bit.

Rocky 3 came out when I was 8, Rocky 4 when I was 11.
Any male near my age range who denies their love for these movies are poopie pant liars.

And Rocky 6 was far from fabulous, but quite good if you were a fan.

I actually managed to enjoy 5.

Bah. I'd meant Rocky V, not IV. Everyone knows who Drago was.

There was a Rocky V? I think I totally missed knowing about that one.

Finally saw Star Trek this afternoon. I am not into Star Trek at all- I think I might have seen one film a long time ago when it was released, and I don't remember a thing.

This one, though, was a great action movie. Pace was excellent- not once was I bored or waiting for something to happen. I know enough about Star Trek to catch some of the old school references. I thought it would be slightly funnier, but that is a small complaint. Really enjoyed the movie, kinda wish I would have seen it earlier with a near full capacity audience...

Rocky V was horrible (Former professional boxer Tommy Morrison played Tommy Gunn - no Wiki needed either). Rocky I was great. I enjoyed two through four as each had their good and bad points, some of it coming off trite. Rocky V came off as stale and a bad way to try to breathe life into a faded franchise. I almost didn't watch Rocky Balboa but I am glad I did. If it was the final Rocky movie (and please let it be) it was a great bow on the series. It felt more like the original Rocky than all of the rest - but you needed the other Rocky movies to get to that point. There was emotion in Balboa and you actually felt sad. I am in no way saying that it was an amazing example of the finest qualities in exceptional movie making but it was a good movie. My wife hates the whole Rocky thing and she even thought that Balboa was a good movie.

Just saw Star Trek and really enjoyed it. I try my best to suspend any "that didn't make sense" type things with sci fi movies, but there is one thing I really don't follow...

When Spock from the future is stranded on that ice planet, he already knows about the Federation base. Why didn't he just go there before Kirk got there and let Vulcan know about the destruction that was coming? He was already on the planet when it happened, the flash back showed him viewing the whole thing go down from his cave.

Besides not following that though, the whole movie was very entertaining, much better than I expect from Trek flicks.

On a side note, Rocky 1-3 were great, 4 was very good, 5 was horrible and Rocky Balboa was decent.

He did? My impression was that he didn't. If he didn't, your difficulty disappears.

Quoting a spoiler for everyone to see kind of defeats the purpose of using the spoiler tag, wouldn't you agree?

What I quoted makes no sense to anyone who hasn't seen the movie.

Well, Spock is older than dirt. Maybe he was trying to build up his strength for the long walk to the station. You never know, Kirk could have been giving him a piggy back ride until right before they got there. But yeah.. makes sense that he would try to do something. Maybe they dropped him off right before the destruction of Vulcan?

Well...how the heck was Spock even able to see the destruction of Vulcan. What Was Ice Planet Zebra-Hoth supposed to be a moon of Vulcan? Which we all know has no moon. :p
