The Mentalist.

So far I'm loving it. Though I disliked the over the top drama in the first episode regarding the title character's family history.

Anyway Bruno Heller is writing it, and he's the guy behind Rome who also wrote some of the best episodes in that series.

I liked it!

I thought it was too hokey. Just another crime show. His "super-power of observation" is was too much for me. I didn't like it and I don't plan on watching it.

But then again, I don't watch that much TV.

It's like a not funny version of Psych.

I enjoy it, and since Psych is on hiatus until January, hey why not?

Plus the gal has beautiful eyes.

At least it's not bad compared to Need for Speed: Knight Rider Theft Auto

Speaking of that, is anyone else irked by the "half seasons" that USA is doing? Both Psych and Burn notice came back on for like 6 or 7 episodes and then had a "summer finale" and went away again. I want full seasons, dammit!

TNT does this also with Closer (watch) and Saving grace (don't watch)

I understand why they do it, but it's annoying.

writers strike anyone?

Fox did the same thing with Prison Break and a few other shows.

krbt: no, this has been going on for years.. they do it to not overlap the big 4's new shows.

I've started getting into this one. It is indeed hokey, but I like the lead actor guy so it works for me. And the red head? Wow....

Just watched the episode where Jane gets Red John's friend out of jail with the promise that said friend would squeal on Red John. Hooked me in further as we find out Red John is far more powerful than we had imagined.

For awhile I was thinking Jared was Red John, until we find out he isn't towards the end.

Good stuff, but I'm wondering if they'll wrap up Red John this season. I won't be able to deal with too much dragging it out.
