So, they kicked off their tour with the annual Blues Traveler show at Red Rocks, CO last night, and it kicked MASSIVE fucking ass. If you've got a chance to see them during their run, do it. We had front row center last night, and band members were coming out, saying hi, and giving away shit. Total blast, so go fucking see them!

Blues Traveler is the only band I can stand to listen to.

You know how some people have an irrational dislike for a band? For example, I can see how somebody would dislike AC/DC, or Guns and Roses; just their voices that irritate them. I happen to like them both o.k., but Live and Collective Soul are like nails on a chalkboard to me. Weird huh? I do like Blues Traveler though. What ever happened to dude and all those guns, did he get in trouble for that or anything? They stopped his SUV and he had a whole cache of weapons on him for the apocalypse.

I had a girlfriend once that couldn't stand the sound of Ozzy Ozbourne.

Blues Traveler will be here in Charleston later this summer. One of the bands I'm really looking forward to seeing.

I saw collective soul at a party at the end of a marathon like two years ago and they seemed like they were five years past being relevant then

If by relevant you mean missing the last Panic! at the Disco concert, I'm happy to be falling behind and getting old heh.

That said, CS was alright, but Live did an outstanding job. BT was amazing as always.

I didn't even know Live was still playing. They utterly fell off the map after that second album. Liked the first one, throwing copper i think?

Yup, to go with last year's heh, as well drumsticks, and guitar picks and pictures out the ass. The bands were coming out to the front row and hanging out (since it's entirely sectioned off), it was pretty cool.

These bands can lead sad lives... I've seen it a lot myself. I know a lot of people who were in largely successful (and by that I mean in terms of record sales) for a while in the 90s and early 00s, but they fell out of relevance pretty fast. The sad part is, these guys are good musicians who keep trying to write new material but they keep getting stuck and forced into playing their old "hits" non-stop. Eventually I think that would kill me, but being able to get paid for playing your music is something that even if I had to play songs I hated, I'd probably continue to do.

Weezer hates every song they play, and you can tell when you see them live. The best concert I've seen recently would probably be The Breeders. Hell I haven't seen many newer bands at all, last few I've been to were the Boredoms, Misfits, Thrill Kill Kult, and the Butthole Surfers.
