Because well the year's over and you can't have that happen without ranking things that happened in the year previous. And "There Will Be Blood" didn't come out in Dallas in 2007, so

Top Best Movies of 2007

1. No Country For Old Men
2. Once
3. Juno
4. Knocked Up
5. Ratatouille
6. Across the Universe
7. American Gangster
8. 3:10 to Yuma
9. Zodiac
10. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Knocked Up over Superbad? I didn't even see Superbad, but I did see Knocked Up and it just seemed like a less-funny version of the 40-Year Old Virgin.

No Sweeney Todd?

Knocked Up would be good if the last half hour were cut out, or they actually had a decent joke in it. The ending was terribly boring.

wait, superbad was funny? Looks like I missed that train. My ticket wawsn't punched in, I guess. Was Hot Fuzz in 2007 or 2006, because that was the best dumb comedy movie I saw. The annoyingly long setup was funny at a times and the payoff was pretty good. But it's still just a movie about rambo vs. grandmas.

Only movies I really sdaw and liked is Juno and Bourne Movie 2007.

Superbad > 40 y.o. Virgin > Knocked Up

The writers of those movies are set for great things. They're truly funny people.

i didn't really like the grayed-out tim burton movie with johnny depp when i saw it first in 1995, so

also the story and songs suck

yeah i caught it the other day i was pretty unimpressed but one person i saw it with really liked it and the other two thought it was ok so i don't feel my opinion is too much the minority even though every critic in the world is spraying jism all over the place for tim burton's old krew back together again

Agree with your top three wholeheartedly. Once was so fucking great. So was No Country, and Juno is probably the best movie you could possibly take a girl to, or at least an indie girl :P

Did you see Atonement?

Can't believe you have Knocked Up on there, but you don't have Sweeney Todd.

I'd make my own list of movies for you to poke holes into, but I haven't seen 10 movies released this year.

no 300??? That came out early 2007 I believe. Loved it, never heard anyone say they disliked it.

Ratatouille was no way in the top 5- cute flick, ehh ok, but I wouldn't watch it again. As far as Disney goes, not much humor in this one.

Also, what about Potter? Even without reading the books, this movie was excellent.

i disagree with everything in your post.

300 was ok and it came out in march, but after buying it on dvd i decided that there's literally no reason to ever see it more than once

Ratatouille is eminently rewatchable. I spot new little nuances whenever the kids ask to put it on - we've seen it about six times at home now.

Not as much a laff-riot as their favorite, Emperor's New Groove, mind you, but not everything needs to be hyperkinetic. The kids take care of THAT on their own.

We just watched Zodiac night before last. Neither one of us liked it.

5 minutes later

Nope, still didn't like it.

OK here is my top list based on the movies I saw:

1. Spiderman 3
2. Shrek the Third
3. Pirates 3
4. There is no 4 - 10. I am a parent of two kids, I don't get to go to movies anymore.
