Interesting concept however this show will fail. Everything Joss has made with the exception of Firefly has been teenybop crap.

First episode was a little disjointed. Eliza doesn't do "blank" well, heh.

There are some strong folks in that cast, though. We'll see what happens.

They had a lot to do in just in hour. Introduce people to the concept, the main characters, and try to get them hooked. That is why first shows are usually given two hours.

As far as the blank thing. I'm going to assume for continuity's sake that 'blank' means they are reverting people to a preprogramed personality and removing unnecessary memories. If they completely wiped peoples minds they would be crawling around shitting on themselves.

I'm on the fence a little. I didn't think it was bad, but I'm not really hooked either. I will watch a few more episodes though, because I think Eliza Dushku is one of the hottest women alive, and I don't care if she can act. Heh.

I watched this show, I think that they need to play up Eliza Dushku assets a lot more.

but that aside, I could really get into the story..

and one more thing, after watching Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and then Eliza, I needed a cold shower.

yeah i watched this week's ep on dvr yesterday, and man was it bad. i have to assume that the time slot they gave it was in anticipation of its imminent cancellation after four or five episodes... but yeah even for whedon who i don't really think much of, this is not good

I actually thought it was okay. Not super great, but not horrible either. I do like that they're starting to focus on her handler, because the statements made about not being able to identify with her character because it's always changing were accurate. Though they do appear to be addressing that a little bit as well.

I haven't watched this show at all for 2 reasons:

1) I'm not going to get interested in something FOX is going to kill. It's like watching Tina Turner head back to Ike's house.

2) I cannot STAND the chick that's the lead. She annoyed the hell out of me in that Jay and Silent Bob movie. She grates on my last nerve.

I'm never one to move with the herd. I can't even tell you what it is about her that annoys the fuck out of me...but she does. It's probably some subtle sense of snobbery oozing out of her.

I hate to correlate the two, but it's akin to people who hated Hillary. In many instances people just hated her...and then would come up with reasoning to justify that dislike, but it was really just about disliking HER, how she came off.

Fortunately for me, that type of dislike doesn't happen often for me.

I actually just found out she existed a few months ago when the SciFi channel started running some show where she plays this girl who tries to save the lives of dead people. And I thought she was a very bad actress there. :P

Here's my thoughts on that, all of which are amusing...at least to me anyhoo!

1) Show DOESN'T get canceled even though it sucks

how painful would that be to see a gem, a shiny gem like Firefly, killed 13 episodes in...and this shit run like 10 seasons. Could happen.

2) Show DOES get canceled, but only after it starts to actually be good!

show sucks initially due to FOX messing w/ it, and then becomes gold, therefore FOX cancels it. Ritual suicides planned online in protest.

3) Show DOES continue to suck AND IS CANCELED

Do people go batshit protesting it like Firefly out of loyalty to Whedon? Or do the fanbois just breathe a collective sigh of relief that their sense of duty to watch has ended.

Here's the thing... She continues to say that the show gets good after episode 6, that that is when we will see your typical Whedon writing, etc, etc, etc. If this thing gets cancelled, I hope it happens before that. Because if what she says is true, and the show gets really good after episode 6 and they cancel it at 8, I'll be pissed. =P

I don't know how TV works, but this show is getting special treatment too, it has limited commercials (30-60 second breaks) and 3 weeks straight of bad reviews. So, it may be costing Fox a lot of money and may not be getting them enough viewers. Which is mostly their fault too, they demanded the pilot was changed, and the changes made it suck.

You shouldn't have to wait 25% of a season for a show to 'get good'. Most shows aren't given six episodes not to suck.

Christian Slater's dumb ass show which was over promoted was canceled...what like 4 in? Heh

Better shows have been canceled, I don't think this one will fly under the radar. It's not by any means a "good" show, whilst shows like Arrested Development have been canceled, so who knows...

I thought it was good. Hopefully they stay away from that job of the week crap. What I didn't like was all of the recycled lines from Firefly that was pandering of the worst kind, that pissed me off.

Just watched it. I'm actually happy with the direction and I'm enjoying it. Pace is picking up, a definite story arc is forming. I'd just like to see some of the key characters get fleshed out a little more.

Not sure if any of you are still watching, but the last episode just completely changed the whole tone of the series. Wicked episode. The last ten minutes of it I was just saying "what the fuck!" over and over.

It's certainly decent. There are probably a ton of shows that deserve to be canceled over this one.

The finale was awesome. :(

It sucks that this is Firefly all over again, so much is still left in the open and the show is pretty much over.

I wish we would find out more about the relationship between Whiskey and Topher. I also wish we could see more of Echo, I sort of liked her character a lot in the finale.

Agreed. The series started slow but really picked up steam. The finale was great (not as good as last week's episode, but still pretty good). Lots of unanswered questions and now it seems we'll never know where things were going.

Why did he choose November instead of Echo to release? I wish they could have explained that, at least, before ending the episode. It's really the biggest unanswered question I want to know...

By the way, did anyone else figure out ahead of time that Dr. Saunders was a doll? I think I picked up on it weeks before, I'm just not sure what clued me in.

Last week when they were questioning Dominic in Victor's body he said "Whiskey?" to Dr. Saunders and she was kind of startled by it.

Yeah, I read someone catch that on the FoH forums and knew since then, and I really like what they did with that.

And Austy, who knows, I'm sure if there was another season we would know why. It is also unclear what Heelo's (never learned hs name on this show...) deal with the dollhouse was. I assume he chose to save November because after what Echo did she probably looked more like a victim in his eyes. Echo is a pretty unique individual, there's something about her that doesn't completely make her a victim. Then, there's Caroline, we still don't know why she joined the Dollhouse, but the little we know she doesn't seem like a victim either.

I really want to know what would hve happened to Victor. :(
