After seeing the What do you watch? thread and realizing I dont watch anything outside of sports on TV these days (Usually just catch the daily show online), I was wondering what show would you most like to have come back if it were possible? For me it would be Homicide: Life on the Street. I think this is probably the greatest show ever made. I didnt get to see it very much when it first ran from 93-99, but when I saw it on WGN months ago I started watching it again and decided to rent the DvDs from Netflix. I could go on for days about how much I love this show but Im just going to put a youtube clip in and leave it at that. Also anyone thats seen pretty much any Law and Order show, and a couple other shows may have seen Det. John Munch (Richard Belzer) on there before. That character originates on Homicide, and has been carried to I think at least 7 different shows heh.

PS - A lot of the good clips have vanished from youtube :(

A funny clip hehe

Heh, when I was a little kid, I loved watching "V". :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(TV_series)

Cheesy effects and hair if you watch it now, but back in the day it was a blast. Could be good if they modernized it.

V was the shizzle, when I was a kid.. I bet if I saw it now I'd probably think it was cheesy and change the channel.

Thinks I wish were still around:

Another one I miss is the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Young_ ... Chronicles

Quote:
From 1992 to 1994, the series was nominated for twenty-three Emmy Awards and won ten. In 1993, Corey Carrier was nominated for the Young Artist Award in the category of "Best Young Actor Starring in a Television Series". In 1994, David Tattersall was nominated for the ASC Award in the category of "Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Regular Series". At the 1994 Golden Globes, the series was nominated for "Best TV-Series - Drama".

I love the whole Indiana Jones franchise, and this series was a high quality back story to the movies. Everything was shot on location around the world.

I was sad to see them stop producing it.

The Frugal Gourmet. The guy died and all and I guess might also have been molesting dudes on his show (according to wikipedia) but it was a pretty tight show. Maybe get some other guy or a look-a-like and you can do a pretty good job, make a nice cooking show again. Well, I got the cooking book from the show anyways.

I really enjoyed "The Agency" the CBS series about the CIA. (Wiki here)

I liked how every show there was someone else trying to stab someone else in the back without the other person knowing exactly who was doing what to whom.

Homicide was definitely one of the best shows ever, sucked when that got canned. But now we have "The Wire", which is from the same people and pretty much just as good imo. Arrested Development, Carnivale, or Deadwood would be my picks.

If we were going off memory, I'd include Airwolf, but I saw a couple episodes in the last two years..

Very much memory, and I could watch it today and enjoy it as much as I did back then.

It begins with the opening. Comparing the two, the original gives me a greater feeling of awe than the new. It was one of the first MP3s that I can remember downloading. It went a long way in setting a tone that this was a space saga, and not a space love boat.

While similar in the way they highlight the characters, the old put more emphasis on the actual aspect of space. If I want to see people slobbering on each other all I need do is turn to google.

The older Cylons were terrifying, and a huge step above anything else at the time. The only evil race i'd even compare them to would be the Darleks of Dr. Who fame. in levels of sheer terror. Every episode you felt "This could be it for Starbuck and our heroes because they are getting their asses handed to them." The new series it just seems like the Babylon 5 copycat CGI battles are filler before someone puts their wang in Cylon vag.

oh.. and All in the Family - I have season 1 I am watching right now... It would be the edgiest thing on TV. If you haven't watched All in the Family recently, you can BT season one. I think I got mine at demonoid. Seriously fun to watch now that everything out of Archie's mouth would make the liberal pussy crowd cry. (more so than back then)

Is it possible to be a self-loathing liberal pussy?

Been meaning to post that I got disc 1 of Young Indiana Jones from Netflix. First disc had 2 episodes stacked as a movie, which was ok I guess, cept the first one ended and all the sudden it was in the second one and I didnt know what happened heh. Also came with I think it was 4 extra videos I guess done just for this DvD series. They covered subjects that were in the two episodes, archaeologists in general, T.E. Lawrence, slavery, and Tutankhamun. Which were are like 20-30 mins long I think, and fairly well done. So looks like itll be a good set to go through EXCEPT, it appears that following discs can have like just a "movie" or just the add ons, which sucks cause I dont want to have Netflix send me a disc with just add on stuff. Though like disc 3 has 6 add on videos, so thats quite a bit to watch I guess. Overall though it looks good, guess Im glad I made this thread hah.
