I forgot we had an arts and entertainment section. Thanks for moving.

As far as the Armor looks, well, if you read the book, this is how the armor originally looked when it was first created.

Isn't the movie supposed to follow a longer term storyline? Showing Stark and the suit evolving from one suit to the next?

So we get the original suit, and eventually get a more modern adaptation of it near the end of the movie as well?

A bad reaction to the picture is just a case of being misinformed about the nature of the Iron Man story and the truth about the suits history.

In the original story, Tony Stark and his buddy James "Rhodey" Rhodes were captured in a POW camp during the Vietnam War. Stark rigged up a pretty low tech suit of armor to get them out alive. This was known as the original gray suit of armor, and was the first in a line of many different suits.

I know this storyline does not take place back during the Vietnam War, but it's good that they're keeping true to some parts of his story by having the original gray suit. This will probably last about 5 minutes before they have him develop the more advanced suits.

Damn, I had tales of suspense 39 when I was a kid too. Sold it when I started college and got a few hundred bucks for it. Thought that was a great deal till I just checked ebay and they are going for almost 3k now.

BTW, he made the 1st suit because he needed a pacemaker in addition to helping him and Rhodey escape. He got shot and his heart was damaged, the suit kept him alive.

New trailer is out for this, and I gotta say- this looks like one of the best super hero movies I've seen (well, haven't seen, but will see) so far!

And that ladies and gents is why Downey Jr. still gets tons of work despite the train wreck that has been his life. He is such an incredible actor.

I'm really glad they're starting at the beginning, because it explains so much of the who/why of Tony Stark.

Can't wait to see it and I'm SO glad it looks like they haven't fucked it up

I was a huge comic book fan as a younger person. I love the fact that Hollywood is making all of these wonderful movies based on these heros. The wonderful part about it all is the fact that I have a grandson that I can take to see these movies and of course I get to see them too. When Superman came out years ago, I took my son who was 5 or 6 and then when the new one came out a couple of years ago, I was priviledged to get to take my grandson who was 8.
