Sorry, I meant these types of quests will be in an MMO game...not that all of them will be tho. I'm pretty sure SW:TOR won't have epic story driven content for every single quests. Then again, I might be wrong and we all will see what happens in the near future (I hope).

Not 'all' quests have mini movies/conversations attached to them.

A majority of your class based quests will as well as ones that are labeled 'world quests'. However, there are sometimes terminals sitting around towns that will be like "The City of (insert name here) is looking for someone to go kill some bandits outside of town, do this then talk to (insert NPC here) once you're done" with a simple accept or decline window.

Another type of quest is called a Bonus Objective. If an NPC sends you out to go disable radar jammers, once you enter the area you'll normally get a prompt after killing an npc that says "Bonus Objective - Kill X# of Y Enemies in the area". These quests auto complete once finished and have decent exp rewards.

Tons of E3 footage out there, although:
1) 99% of them on youtube and the like are by people who had never played before, and subsequently suck ass
2) the few that do seem reasonable players, and as confirmed by various posts on the SWTOR boards, suggest gameplay is your typical "whack-a-mole" with your abilities as they refresh. Yay, another game of hitting 1-2-1-2-3 over and over again...
3) Some of the Jedi powers look absolutely silly. Watching a Jedi sage pull out what looks to be a jet engine out of the sand in Tatooine over and over again and force throw it at enemies was ridiculous.
4) Combat seemed *way* too long. Fighting Jawas and them taking a lightsaber to the face 20 times before they dropped ruined things for me. Similarly, an Imperial Agent with a 7' sniper rifle taking a sniper shot at some random trash mob and barely taking off 10-15% life...
/sigh

Graphics look very well polished.
Animations look great.

Combat/Gameplay looks boring as sin.

Well they can't very well let the Lightsaber be an instant kill/sever for every organic in the galaxy, though it undoubtedly should be.

I don't recall hearing the complaints during KoTOR regardless.

My point was that I'm sure they could find a happy medium between "slash the Jawa 20 times with a lightsaber before it dies" and an insta-kill/sever scenerio.

Although in the past day or so some Marauder (the Sith dual-wield heavy dps advanced class) footage has come out from E3, and it looks much more reasonable in terms of battles. The Marauder was quickly dispatching the enemies within a matter of seconds, which makes me think the previous videos of Imperial Agents and Sith Sorcerers were played by people who simply didn't know what they were doing.

Still not fussed on the Jedi "throw an aircraft engine" graphical effect instead of having Force Push or whatever it is, but oh well.

The game looks good other than that, and I'm sure it'll do well on release.

I agree with the "throw an aircraft engine" statement as well. I think it would be better to use the environment instead. Like huge rocks, trees and even mobs. Where the special attack grabs whatever object is closest to the Jedi. It would be bad ass to grab a mob and throw it to the kill target haha.

Something like that if you know what I am talking about.

Every remotely-plausible explanation for lightsaber physics concedes that water-saturated ablative armor should defeat one completely for the first couple of swings. There's absolutely reason for a lightsaber not to be instant death.

I've heard it mentioned before that "lightsabers won't work in water". Was this something discussed in the books or is it just a generalization since it looks like it wouldn't work in water?

supposedly they short out underwater unless specifically crafted.

there's also some nonsense on the star wars wiki about the blade's forcefield not working in a fluid environment.
