Warhammer has a decent start on Tradeskilling but, have a lot of ground to cover. I have began Apoth for some pot making but, what supports the skill?

From what I understand from another discussion, you can go with either cult or scav to support your Apoth but, depending which one you choose will determine the pots you will create.

It also seems that Talisman making requires 2-3 tradeskills to support Tali.

I like the idea of WAR tradeskill, everything appears to lean on others and most importantly other tradeskillers. Can we get an informative post rolling with some of the in's and out's of tradeskills?

Also, I have learned there are not any reciepes in the game for Apoth, you must search the web or try and write it down.

Apothecary

Cultivating - herbs
Butchering - blood n guts
Scavenging - leeches, watering cans, etc
PQs - containers

Talisman Making

Magical Salvaging - fragments/essences **fixed**
Scavenging - curios
Apothecary - gold essences
Dunno where high level containers come from, assume scavenging

Is there a limit to how many of the gathering skills you can have?

One.

And when you take Apothecary, you're pretty much locked into taking scavenging, but that is ok since it's the best gathering profession there is.

Err I took up Apothecary and Cultivating last night, Givin. I thought Cultivating is a better choice because I can grow the herbs and other plants to support making potions. Also, I don't see a way to unlearn tradeskills too.

You can, but you start back at skill 1.

You can get green scavenging/butchering mats for apothecary though the PQs. If you want to be self-sufficient however it's best to take the gathering skill where you need to 'kill stuff' and put things like cultivation and magical salvaging on alts. Pretty sure a level 1 alt can still max skills. It's a pain in the ass to trade until you have access to a guild bank though.

Apoth/Scavenge here.
There is a skilling gap from 45-60 for apoth, or I neglected them when I could scavenge the appropriate level.
Having to buy my lvl 40-50 leeches on AH.

My 500 heal pot buys me 3 seconds more life !

I got all my leeches that level range in Barak Var I think. Tons of 50-60 ones.
