Eventually you can purge roots and snares. It's funny when they root you then stop about 20 feet away and try nuking you. You purge the root then go smash their face in.

It's too bad. I see a niche for this game but a small one. I just think the lore from Warhammer is much more interesting than the standard fare of WoW, and the races are, at least from a lore and design standpoint, so much more interesting.

I cruised around the inevitable city the other night. Spent an hour exploring. Saw some high level players that really motivated me to keep levelling.. And I still love the PQ and scenario options. Got into some good groups for the scenarios and was able to level without doing any quests - just scenarios and PQ experience. Got some great drops from the PQs and renown points I got, too.

WoW could take some of the best parts of WAR and be an INCREDIBLE game. The alternate ways to advance your character beyond just questing/grinding, the varied and interesting scenarios. The class mechanics are very limited in WAR, and I find myself getting bored - until I start exploring and doing scenarios/pq's/quests.

ps: you get this at Rank 18:

Mutating Release
Core Ability
45 Action Points No range
Instant cast 60s cooldown
Your bones and muscles twist and contort to free you from any root or snaring effects.

WoW will indeed take the best parts of War and toss them in.

I'm not a lore junkie. I don't even read quests anymore. Click, Accept, follow Tom Tom Waypoint Arrow. Who the fuck is Thrall and Lady Sylvanas?

Get higher initiative and resistance. Helps a mint against casting classes. In PvP wounds scales poorly compared to enemy dmg/crit, resist type stats scale with them.

There are enough BWs around to justify concentrating on +elem by itself, and slotting your talismans accordingly. The +40 elem ones aren't too hard to come by.

I hate pvp, everyone knows this, anyone that's been guilded with me knows it, but this games pvp makes me want to pvp. Unfortunetely, my opinion is that it is not something I can do on a nigthly basis. It will take months for jackholes to realize and understand how to properly RVR. Fucking Zealots doing dps...christ. At any rate, I agree with Joxur, the niche for this game will be small but god, it has so much potential.

Sadly I see them giving in and eventually adding end game PVE content, because that's what the player base they have right now wants. The most common complaint I see "I can't raid in this game, it sucks because it's not like WoW, but I LOVE the pvp"

We'll see what happens, I have every intention of playing WOTLK and WAR.

So far I'd have to say most classes have there roles one way or the other. Sometimes people get to wrapped up in the damage charts etc.

My BW in the early 20's felt like he was completely worthless lower lvls when some of the other classes aren't at such a huge disadvantage, but when I hit 25 things really opened up again. No class is truly a 1 man army for the most part though.

With KB's being common as shit in T3 AE's tend to do less damage (T2's I was doing 70-100k+ damage through out the whole rank, I do alot less now in most). Granted I am back to leading damage charts but its typically not by the retarded amounts it used to be. And there is always the trade off of dieing in about 3 seconds even with 4850 unbuffed hp.

I lvl'd all the healers up for 2boxing but finally stuck with runepriest as it was by far the easiest 2boxer. I do decent in scenario's with him on the healing side. But a very well played warrior priest is a damn scary thing.

At the moment im happy with class balance up to T3 anyway, I feel my class has a role that it can excel in greatly but also has alot of weak points (most classes that come 1 on 1 for me can fuck me up, tanks I have zero chance against).

Shadow warriors/engineers seem to need abit of loving though. Our white lions and witch hunters seem to do fine.

It's awesome because we are afraid to love it so much, we have to hate on it and each other too. Because after the last batch of mmo launches, getting excited and telling people how great it is only leads a game to ruin.

It's ok, it's not just WAR.

MMO gamers are some of the biggest self-loathers I've ever seen. No one hates an MMO gamer like another MMO gamer. =O

This is my personal favorite RvR/PvP AE Marauder Spec. This turns you into a fucking unstoppable AE truck. Its a heavy Monstrosity spec. It works well for PQs also, just have a healers or two and you're solid.

Back during Beta, I went into Bastion Stair with a group of guys. Another Marauder and I used this spec and we literally walked the group thru 75% of the zone without dying, AEing shit the whole way.

I have experienced zero RvR on my witch elf since like level 8. Sounds like its not fun. :x

We have an aoe knockdown but its a frenzy 13 points down the carnage tree. :P I'm pretty sure witchsbrew+for the hag queen would work about the same as well, but missing out on some slice damage doing that. Curious if you're using kiss of doom/ruthless assault sola? atm i get 500-600 crits with armor piercing elixir, and 800-1k slice crits.

Jeka haha my friend plays a Witch Elf, and he attacked some Order dude on the road once in 24 ranks. On the Greenskin side tho, everyday I have some open RvR! I really enjoy the Greenskin areas a lot :)

I may have had one of the more satisfying mmo experiences in a long time last night. Friend told me there was some open RVR at one of the t2 keeps in Ostland, so I flew over... we wound up losing, but we had a moving pitched battle out in the open. Couldn't do much as a marauder, it was mostly artillery fire back and forth between the ranged. Melee just kinda guarded them.

Anyways, we moved close enough to the chaos camp that I ran over to one of those tri-gun things and absolutely obliterated a small group of order who got too close, including a Bright Wiz who thought it would be a good idea to stand in one spot and lob nukes at us.

That felt good.

Before that, I ran out into the open and some fucker ran up to me and punted me right into the middle of the order camp... and I got obliterated. Was kinda funny actually. heh

If you hit P and pull up your character screen, you can mouse over each of the stats to get a small description.

I don't have the game, but you all seem to be enjoying it so much I may try it out, with a more hearty effort this time. It just seems like there is a lot to learn in the way of stats. That intimidates me a lil bit.

It's pretty much a much have. Waters can reach crazy prices on the AH, most notably the level 50 and 100 ones. They will be the component you hurt for the most.

With the mail system change to 5 seconds, I'd just make a mule to cultivate with, since as far as I know, it doesn't rely on your char level. Most people I play with are waiting till 40, or just working it up what they can as they level since pots are pretty commonplace as loot as you go up, but almost disappear completely at 40.

So I wasn't enjoying playing before on the server I chose w/ my family, I don't know why but they pick RP fucking servers in every game, it's so god damn annoying and retarded. They don't RP, they just said something about how they don't want to get ganked and shit.

If that's their outlook they may not want to play a purely PVP based game...

ANyhow, I said fuck them and picked Azazel / Order, and I'm having more fun. World seems more populated than the other 9 servers I've tried.

I really wish they'd condense servers. It's not a sign of concession to anything... they just need to balance population that's all.
