Well I just heard about the bonus's to pre-ordering the CE version of WAR and went to preorder only to find out all online and local stores are already sold out.

Question for anyone who is familiar with this....

If you pre-order you get a set of codes that
A) open beta access
B) early live
C) few ingame trinkets

If you preorder at a store they gave you a code key. So my question is if i buy a sealed preorder box off ebay I wouldn't be fucked would I when retail came about and I couldn't get my hands on an actual CE copy? I'm thinking I put in the codes to get the early access then come retail I just have to go buy a normal copy and put that in when required.

Makes sense to me but maybe I'm missing something. Also they need to come up with a better idea, the idiots at my local gamestop freaking were just passing the keycodes to anyone basically. Not to mention I am sure alot of people grab the keys and sell them on ebay anyway instead of hand them out. The only thing I give a shit is early access, I rather get abit ahead of the curve if I can.

I pre-ordered the CE the day it became available and got an email from Gamestop (where I did the pre-order) with my codes.

The first code, the Open Beta Code, you can enter now on your Warhammer Beta Center Account. Once you enter it, it will appear under your "Current Associations" as Collectors Edition Pre Order.

The second code, for the Head Start, can only be entered at the EA Mythic Account Management Website which has yet to actually go live. As far as I'm aware, because you get the Head Start you actually download the retail client rather then having to wait for your box to arrive. However, you do need your retail discs in order to keep your account active after a certain period of time has elapsed (I think they said like 2 weeks).

The third code, for the in-game items, is also entered at the EA Mythic Account Management Website. After entered, to redeem the items you just need to make a character and open the Tome of Knowledge. Any items can be redeemed on any/every character you make.

So basically, at some point you will actually need the retail discs...whether you actually need "your discs" or "some discs" to activate you account on live I'm not sure.

Thanks for info. So in all reality I should be able to just go buy a non-CD retail copy I am hoping to continue to play (or at least they will have more available then since alot of people probably just signed up for the keys anyway).
