I tested it out and got a code (as have others), so it's legit. If you are interested in trying out Rift, I recommend paying $5 for this, rather than just going Free2Play. This version gives a mount, the Storm Legion Souls (which you cannot get in the Free2Play version), 6 character slots (versus like 2), and 5 bag slots (instead of 3).

Rift was worth the buy-in at the outset. Good times. Even if you don't stick with it, the experience leveling just one character to raid level is worth the purchase price just for the novelty of what they've done here.
