I know with the game going free to play, there is some intrest in Rift. I have a Defiant guild with a few old Vita folks on Faeblight going, if anyone is wanting a home for their time in Rift. Send a tell to Sophilyn or Neesho or for an invite.

Are guilds still defiant/guardian only? I was led to believe they removed the separation on pve servers.

Pretty sure they can have either side.

Guilds can have both.

The game is still faction based however. Quests, faction hubs and all that. They also added in the best feature ever to an MMO a while back. Guild invites through the mail.

Played this game when it first came out.. didnt really care for it.. and with it being out for awhile would hate to start at the beginninbg.. with nobody in the lower lvls.. still messing around in EQ2.. the game gets a bit lonely though.. dont know anyone much in the game.. it would be a really fun game if more played on it.. would be really cool to play with old names again from the Lanys server.. but I guess those days are gone now. Maybe some other game.

Rift has these things called instant adventures that you can join from anywhere in the world and it puts you in kind of a public raid type event. It's an instanced version of a normal zone where you complete several objectives and they scale to how many people are there. You can go from 1 to max level doing this.

Also at max level, people are constantly forming rift and great hunt raids and these can be joined cross server, so there is always something to do.

Queue times are the average for any other MMOs. Tanks and healer queues are instant. DPS takes a while but any DPS class that can queue up as support gets in faster. Most times groups just have whoever got in as support respec as straight DPS anyway.

Plus it's free to play. Or will be soon. Don't know about the start date. Since you bought the game there is probably some super special preferred status for that as well.

Trading Rift: Storm Legion code for something Star Wars The Old Republic related on the Kaas City server which is now Jedi Covenant. If applied it gives a free month of game time I'm pretty sure, but not 100% sure. Looking for a big bankroll of credits.

I forgot to cancel my year subscription....twice...and got a shitton of veteran rewards/etc when I logged in, including a 110% speed mount, which makes leveling trivial as FUCK.

Returning to Rift F2P with Tempus Infinitum on Faeblight has been fun.
"It will be nice working with proper villains again"

There have been nice improvements to the game since I last played over a year ago.
Also their marketplace is nicely done. I like to buy the ever 10 lvl gear bundle.

I did end up dropping $20x2 to get enough gems/spend for tier 1 patronage for 110% mount speed.
Grabbed the cleric which can apparently do tank/heal/dps?!

If anyone is bored and likes the somewhat dynamic rift events, check it out...
