You only say "good picks" because I picked the Angels to go to the Series. :bootyshake:

First, from what I understand the playoffs will work like this:
Div winner 1, Div Winner 2, Div winner 3, WC1, and WC2 are the teams that qualify for the playoffs. WC1 and WC2 will play single game to determine who gets to advance (kind of like a play in game). The winner of that game then becomes the Wild Card and the playoffs continue like they have for the past several years. This single game really gives the division winners an advantage as they 1) have an extra day or two rest and 2) will get to match their #1 pitcher against the wild card's #2 pitcher. If there is no extra day between the end of the season and the start of the Wild Card round then it will further tax the pitching rotations and bullpens of the wild card teams.

Now my picks:
American League
East
1. Rays
2. Yankees
3. Blue Jays
4. Red Sox
5. Orioles

Central
1. Tigers
2. Royals
3. Indians
4. White Sox
5. Twins

West
1. Angels
2. Rangers
3. Mariners
4. A's

Wild Cards - Yankees & Rangers

ALCS: Rays vs Tigers

National League
East
1. Marlins
2. Nationals
3. Phillies
4. Braves
5. Mets

Central
1. Reds
2. Cardinals
3. Pirates
4. Brewers
5. Cubs
6. Astros

West
1. Diamondbacks
2. Giants
3. Rockies
4. Dodgers
5. Padres

Wild Cards: Nationals and Cardinals

NLCS: Reds beat Diamondbacks

WORLD SERIES: Detroit beats Cincinnati

How when CJ Wilson won't win a postseason game?

I think that the Red Sox will be down this year and that the Yankees won't be the traditional Yankee Juggernaut.

I see some young and talented teams in Kansas City and Washington. If they can stay healthy they will make some noise. Pittsburgh started the season really strong last year but didn't know how to win. I think we are starting to see a new cycle in baseball, the teams that have been on top for so long are going to fall back down and some new players will begin to emerge. Tampa Bay was on the leading edge of that.

I think Philadelphia is done. Utley and Howard are hurt and will miss significant time. Roy Haladay and Cliff Lee are on the downward slope of their careers, yes they are still good pitchers but their dominance is over.

I think that Texas and LA/Anaheim will feast playing Oakland and Seattle so much, plus Texas has Houston in their annual inter-league stuff. Houston, Oakland, and Seattle will be among the worst teams in MLB. Add San Diego, Baltimore, Mets and possibly the cubs to that mix. I'd have the Dodgers there too due to their ownership situation but they do have some pretty good player that are on the upswing.

Milwaukee will take a step back with the loss of Fielder and what will be a slow start for Braun as he will be pressing to prove that he wasn't on the juice last season.

It should be a wild ride this year in MLB.

So far it's been a wild year in MLB indeed! Who would had seen Baltimore in first place in the AL East, and Washington winning their division too. Interesting and I wonder how everything will end once the season is over.

Thinking out loud on where Josh "too much caffeine" Hamilton will end up next season.

Most likely not:
Oakland (they don't spend on free agents)
Seattle (they don't spend on free agents)
LA Angels (they spent a lot last year and have Trout in CF)
Cleveland (they don't spend on free agents)
Kansas City (they don't spend on free agents)
Detroit (they spent a lot last year)
Tampa Bay (they don't spend on free agents)
New York Yankees (I just don't see them spending money on a player like Josh)
Baltimore (doesn't seem like a fit there)
LA Dodgers (no room)
San Diego (they don't spend on free agents)
St. Louis (they don't spend on free agents)
Atlanta (they don't spend on free agents)
NY Mets (out of $$$)
Texas Rangers (I don't see him back unless the market for a fragile body and ego player isn't what Josh thinks it should be)
Colorado (youth movement)
Arizona (youth movement)

Possibilities:
Chicago White Sox
Boston Red Sox
Miami Marlins
Toronto Blue Jays
Philadelphia Phillies
Washington Nationals

Long shot but would not surprise me:
Houston Astros - They have new management, changing leagues, have money, and need to make a splash
