What an amazing final night to the season!

I can't believe that the Yankees let a 7-0 lead go and lost the game. Yeah, I know that they were not playing any of their main pitchers but still... it is the Yankees.

As a fan of the Rangers, I wanted Tampa and Boston to both win (or both lose) so they would have a one game play-off. Tampa is still a dangerous opponent.

The Detroit Tigers/NY Yankees series should be a good one. I think that Detroit will will because they have the better starting pitching.

Don't be surprised if the Cardinals win the series vs Philly. Yes, Philly is the best team in Baseball this year, but they have been in cruise control for the past month while St. Louis has been battling for their spot in the post season. It wouldn't surprise me if Tampa won vs Texas either, but Texas has been playing to get the #2 spot in the playoffs through last night's game. They won't have to "turn it up" to be back in form as they have been playing pressure games for the past month. (plus the Rangers took three of four games vs TB during September)

My picks for the division series:
Detroit over New York in four
Texas over Tampa in three

Philadelphia over St. Louis in five
Milwaukee over Arizona in four

Not soo much...I can't believe the Cards beat the Phillies. I thought for sure, they were going to the WS this year. I'm glad the Yankees are out of the race tho! Now, I want to see the Rangers get owned by the Tigers /grin

I love it when I am right.

Now for the LCS:

St.Louis over Milwaukee in 6
Detroit over Texas in 6

Brewers in 6 over Cards
Tigers in 7 over Rangers

both NLCS teams are gutsy but Brewers didn't need other teams to fall apart they have been on a roll since the all-star break

yeah, it is quite ironic that St.Louis needed Philly to sweep Atlanta so that the Cards could make the playoffs. And then the Cards beat Philly.

Heh. Here's my facebook update from shortly after that loss. Covers it pretty well.

"The season ends in fitting fashion. Ryan Howard on his fat fucking ass along with the Phillies offense. Enjoy the offseason, douchebags. You're good at that part."

I can't believe how HORRIBLE the Rangers starting pitching has been and they are in the World Series.

Now, if (and this is a big if) St. Louis wins one of two vs Milwaukee they will HOST the World Series as a Wild Card. I have been a Cards fan since the days of Ozzie and Whitey Ball(hell since the Garry Templeton for Ozzie trade). But having a WILD CARD TEAM with home field advantage in the World Series over a division winner is not right.

I can't lose in the World Series. :)

The team that I have followed and rooted for since I was a kid, the Cardinals, now face the team that I have been following since I moved here, the Rangers.

The long time fan in me would like to see the Cards win another championship, but I will be happy either way :)

You do understand this is Philly, right? We never fail to disappoint. Much like our teams.

I actually love this aspect since it makes the All-Star game have some real meaning instead of being a waste of time. I wish more sports had something worthwhile riding on the outcome of their all star games.

Quite possibly the largest choke job against an inferior team in world series history, its probably right up there with the 86 World Series perhaps even greater because the Mets didn't back their ass into the playoffs in 86.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I had no doubts Cards would win game 7 after way Game 6 ended.
