All things baseball goes in here. In a few weeks before the season starts I will have my picks for the division winners and all that jazz.

Did you hear that Chuck Greenberg is"stepping down" as Rangers CEO?

Something tells me that everything that went good last year with the Rangers is going to go bad this year....

Haha I don't think the Rangers are going to win the division or make the postseason in 2011. They did not really have a better season than 2009 (comparing wins/loses not the playoffs run etc), but the Angels just had a bad one. Texas' record was pretty much the same as the year before.

So, if the Angels can have a good season with more wins, the Rangers will be in second place or less this year.

Rangers record for 2009: 87-75
Rangers record for 2010: 90-72

Not a major improvement at all. In 2011, their SP will not be as strong too. I'm thinking no division title for Texas in 2011.

I am thinking the same thing. However, I don't know that the impact will be "Cliff Lee isn't here" For the regular season he started 15 games and was 4-6 in those. In the ALDS and ALCS he was a STUD! During the reg. season his impact was not as huge as people tend to think.

However, CJ, Colby Lewis, Tommy Hunter, ??? and ??? is not a division winning rotation. Webb is a possibility for one of those ??? but it may not be until May (or later). That leaves the final ??? to Feldman, Holland (both were huge no-shows last year) or or Matt Harrison (who really hasn't impressed).

The A's and the Halos have each improved and have better rotations than the Rangers. Hell, with King Felix alone, Seattle may have a better rotation than the Rangers.

Offensively, the Rangers will, if healthy, produce with the best of them. Health is their main concern there. Beltre is hurt now, Hamilton, Nelson Cruz, and Kinsler have not been able to put a full season in for a while

Sigh more weird injuries for the Angels, and the season has not even started yet!

Broken toe will sideline Downs for Opening Day

Scot Shields retires and I'm glad he did as an Angel :)

Former Angels hurler Shields opts to retire

Looks like the Giants have some injury issues as well.

Closer Wilson mildly strains left oblique

The Astros are moving to the AL West in 2013! Good, more easy wins for the Angels /grin

Astros sale to Crane, move to AL approved

yeah, was kind of surprised with that, and that it was done without much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Will take the Ass-tros a while to build up to even competing in the AL. They sucked in the NL, they will be horri-bad in the AL (Seattle must have smiled as they are no longer the cellar dweller in the AL West)

Can you imagine the hit parade of AL teams going through the band box that is what the 'stros call home? At least when NL teams went there in the past, the pitcher had to hit...

How quickly we forget. Sure, the Astros had 2 bad years in a row, but they aren't exactly a Kansas City or Pittsburgh. I, for one, am looking forward to the move to the AL.

Updated the thread for the new 2012 season, instead of making a new one.

Anyway, the Angels make some big news today! 2012 should be a better season for the Halos.

Angels land both Pujols and Wilson

I'm soo happy the Angels will now have an ex-Ranger to bitch slap them with in 2012 :)

you can have the DB (he is a MAJOR DB). I hope you aren't counting on him to win any games in the post season....

Just some of his self-bragging interviews:
