Bill Belichick is arguably the top head coach in the NFL. His system probably would not work when it came to college football.

I think Jimmy Johnson was the last successful college coach to make the transition to the pro's and not fail miserably (Jimmy's was lucky that he was given more than two years as they stunk!).

Now that the NFL is not giving coaches more than one year to turn things around (Jim Mora was fired after one year. Cleveland and Tampa were thinking about cutting their coaches after one year) it will be harder for any college head coach, with no NFL experience, to be successful in the NFL.
