Well, can we make it official? Ohio State the most overrated team of the 2000's?

The sad, pathetic thing is that they will no doubt win the rest of their games, and probably be in place for a BCS bowl game. What a crock of shit.

As sad as I am at the season that Michigan is going to have this year (as well as the sadness of their poor performance today vs Notre Dame)... I take much happiness and joy in seeing USC just outright embarass Ohio State :)

And I am not sure if they are overrated per se... they just simply cannot handle teams with a lot of speed. Last two BCS losses were to fast teams (Florida, LSU), and USC is obviously loaded with speed and talent at the skill positions. I think it is probably more a matchup issue than it is an overrated issue, as much as I hate Ohio State...

Probably the best solution is to have USC play the best team in the SEC every year.

It's not like the ACC, Big 10 or Big East has anyone that can even come close.

Pretty much. There is USC, there is the SEC champion (whomever it is that year)... and then everyone else drops a tier below. Of course, what *should* happen usually never does, which is why the BCS is awful and horrible. Where are you playoffs :(

Errr, the Big12 is a pretty big deal... well besides that clusterfuck "We can't ever play the big game" OU.

:D

Didn't OU get blown out of the stadium ala OSU style the last time they played in the Championship game ?

Can we please put the "not-so" Big 10 to rest now? The ACC should win a BCS championship before the "not-so" Big 10.

The "not-so" Big 10 has to rebuild their entire league to adjust to the speed that the top teams of the SEC, Big 12, Pac-10, and the rebuilding ACC powers will bring to the table. It seems to me that the "not-so" Big 10 is still trying to get the biggest kids possible to play thinking that they can coach speed.

Maybe I am biased cause I was born and raised in Big 10 country, but I don't think the entire conference is "poor" as many are saying today. They still have quality teams with quality players, and they still have many quality programs. They just cannot beat fast teams- it is a match up problem.

What they need to do, and what might start now that Rodriguez is at Michigan, is recruiting speed at the skill positions. The spread offense is unknown in the Big 10, so in a couple years maybe some of the programs will pick up on what Rodriguez is bringing to Michigan, and become faster. And by doing so, they can compete with the faster teams out there in the more skilled conferences.

Also, I don't understand why Big 10 teams want to get into track meet races with SEC, Pac-10, etc teams. You are the Big 10- you pound the football between the tackles, you push people around, you bully them. That is what you do. And yet I am watching Ohio State on Saturday night, and they are trying all sorts of formations and running the QB out of the pocket... trying to emulate a speed team. You are who you are- so be that! Don't try and be someone else IMHO.

Everyone is recruiting speed.

Michigan has two major things going against it.

1) They aren't a whole lot of 5 star recruits coming out of Michigan.
2) The school is MUCH harder to get into than most SEC, Big 12 and ACC schools.
