I have Young and Brady. My team is Smashing Melons. Looks like it's going to be a long year.

Young sucks as a fantasy QB anyway so that part is no great loss.

Sshaaz, it seems like a fairly balanced trade considering my situation. Make the offer in the league and we'll see if it goes through.

Edit: I made the offer...just accept and see if anyone votes against it.

k, accepted. i might be out a wr (burleson) and didnt want to pull one of your starters. im gonna live and die with rivers, so hopefully having two of his targets helps me out. berrian is a huge question mark, but i guess we'll see tonight, wont we?

Probably the fairest trade in the history of this league. Can't imagine anyone voting against that.

Berrian has a nobody at QB, which is going to hurt him a lot this season (regardless if he is their top receiver threat or not). I don't personally like the trade from a talent standpoint (Daniels is slightly below Gates fantasy-points wise... Stewart *could* be the starting RB and get stats close to Jacobs... and Peyton destroys anything Berrian can do) and it seems to me like Jateki is definitely getting the better of the deal.

However... from a team personnel standpoint, I can understand the reasons on both sides why the trade should go through. Sshaaz needs a WR, Jateki needs a QB. And Sshaaz did propose it, so I guess it is good.

I honestly think Rivers should replace Peyton, and that would make it a far more fairer trade IMHO. But as it stands, like Zatronn did say, it is one of the fairest trades this league has done. I know that Jateki is beaming right now :)

i'll tell you my thoughts and maybe you can see where i'm coming from: I have a reliable backup in Rivers. I'm comfortable with him as my starter. Jateki needs a quarterback, and Manning can get me what I need. I value Gates over Daniels because if he catches a TD, *my* quarterback threw it to him. Plus, I have Chambers. I value Jacobs over Stewart because BJ is the workhorse, and JStew will have to prove himself to get the carries I know BJ is going to get. I chose Berrian because he had yet to play and I didn't want to choose one of Jateki's starters when I'm offering a bench player myself...

Overall, Jateki gets Manning to Harrison, I get Rivers to Gates and Chambers... Combine that with the fact that I'm banking on SD going to the Super Bowl, and I'm happy with the trade.

Owen Daniels is not "slightly" below Antonio Gates fantasy points wise... You don't draft Gates in the second round and Daniels in the 8th because they're similar. Jacobs is a proven NFL running back and Stewart may or may not be worth as much in a swap at the end of the season, but hasn't shown much in one week, so is an unknown quantity.

I think either side "could" come out ahead on this one, in the end, but I can't see any reasonable complaint about it right now. I would actually have probably been a bit inclined to bitch if they had made that trade with Rivers instead of Manning. I probably wouldn't have voted against it, but it would have felt a bit like bagging towards Sshaaz with those terms.

Yeah, I had a look at it and don't have any problems. Unfortunately this year I had a hurricane bearing down on us at the time of the draft so I got autodrafted and pretty much hosed. That might end up being a good thing because I likely would have taken Brady with my first pick.

I don't know how you guys do it, but trades should only be voted down when they are obviously lopsided affairs where one team looks to be giving up. Voting no because you would have done it with *this* guy instead of *that* guy is not how a fantasy league should work. Not every trade has to be apples for apples.

No worries Sshaaz, I saw you had Rivers before I posted, so I understand your ability to trade Peyton for value. What bothers me most about Gates is his toe injury, which is why I make the claim that (for this year at least) Daniels could be closer to him than in years past. The difference when looking at last year's stats is high (Gates doubles what Daniels did), but does not mean that it could repeat itself in my opinion.

But yeah, it is as fair a trade as you can get. I am just really hoping that this year does not repeat what happened to me last year in a friends' ESPN league where I finished second overall in points scored (out of 10 teams) ... and had a 3-10 record because everyone had their damn career game against me lol.

I agree with Neesha's trade rule. Only trades made by teams that have clearly given up should be vetod.

Bleh. I am at work, on lunch at 8:30 am, and check out ESPN.com on my phone. I see that Colston is out 4-6 weeks, so I am thinking... cool! I can go after Patten and Henderson!

Of course, Zatronn must have also been checking his phone out too... at his house :P

Gotcha. Was more bummed about my other league, was really hoping to get either of them (they were both free agents as of last night)... but one of the guys picked up both of them this morning :(

I have good receivers in that league- Calvin Johnson, Anthony Gonzalez, Patrick Crayton, Kevin Walter... so I am not that bad off. But would have been nice for the next couple of weeks to get a main guy on a good offense.

I actually still have 1st waiver pick. I've only picked up FA's so far. Someone always drops someone worth burning a high waiver spot for and I'm saving mine for it! Got to get something good for drafting last.

My team has officially gone to shit. Aaron Rogers better not be seriously injured. The injury bug has got me big time so far.

Congrats Depyx!

Great league this year. It was competitive top to bottom. 14 teams with 980 points or better for a season is awesome.

It was great that so many people participated all the way through the season! Most leagues half the people drop out after a week or two... but not this one.

Big congratulations to Depyx. Great team he had. And big props to Zatronn who (IIRC) picked 15th or 16th out of all of us... and still ended up in the championship game. Just proves what I was saying earlier that just cause you pick in the top 3 doesn't automatically mean you are playoff/championship bound :)

I am finally glad I actually won a first round playoff game. LOL. Maybe next year I will actually draft a good WR instead of drafting WR on potential/hope heh...

See you all next season!

For those interested: Jateki got 545.28 out of the players I traded him and I got 442.90 out of the players I got from him. Berrian ended up killing me. I rolled the dice, still happy with the trade. We were only like 2 games apart record-wise.

Grats ugly iksar

Thanks guys. My team was just on a roll by the end of the season. Since I won baseball too, is there any special Lanys Fantasy Manager of the Year award?

PS - Its Depx! On the old ezboard my name was something like deppyx but thats only because Depx was taken I think. Depx was my iksar sks name and I still use it to this day. For a 4 letter name though it sure does get spelled wrong a lot :p.
