You seem to have missed the Mets in your scenario there, even though you have them winning their division.

just an FYI, but the Wild Card and #1 division winner can not play each other in the first round of the playoffs.

Baseball season's underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day.

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They're singing ...
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field

We're singing now ...

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp you feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans.

You're singing now ...

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Detroit will come out of the American League. Worried about Zumaya's health, hopefully he can get well sooner than later and help out that bullpen. That is Detroit's only weakness, hopefully they can get someone in June or July to help them out in that area. Otherwise, they are loaded 1-9 and in the starting rotation. The Red Sox will have a great team as well, and I would not be surprised if the Blue Jays surprise some people and do well.

In the National League, I know the trendy pick is the Mets. However, I think one of the other teams that are not being talked about is going to come through. I am going to say one of the West teams... either Arizona or San Diego will make it out of the National League. Since I don't want to come off too "homer" I will go with San Diego.

And the real question will be... will the Marlins win at least 40 games this year?

This year could be very interesting.

Atlanta, NY Mets, and Philly all could win the NL East
The Cubs and Brewers should battle for the NL Central title all year. Some even say that Cincy will make some noise
Other than the Giants anyone can win the NL West

In the AL, add Toronto with the Yankees trying to catch the Sox on their post-series hangover.
The AL central will be very tough, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota and the White Sox will be fighting all year. A key injury to one of those teams will be harder to overcome than in previous years.
The AL West is a two team race in Seattle and the Angles.

That is the good, but the bad will be horrible.

Texas, Florida, Houston, Oakland, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco will all post very bad seasons.

This really looks like a jumbled year at the top and bottom with very few teams in the middle.
