And a state mourns....we knew it was coming some day, but it still hurts. He was often the lone bright spot in Wisconsin sports for many years... we were always guaranteed an exciting (if not always winning) football season with him at the helm.

Thanks for the years of memories Brett.

Sad to see such a great player go. Was always one of my favorite QBs, like many other people I was really rooting for him to win the Super Bowl this year and retire on top.

At least I'll stop hearing his last name being butchered. "Farve"? No, "Fah-ver"

It's impossible for the R to be before the V. Thanks!

As a Lions fan (shudder), I was always anti-Green Bay anything for obvious reasons. However, I always respected Favre as a competitor and a great QB. One thing I loved about him was that he had so much passion and enthusiasm for what he did, something you just don't see much in today's athlete. Bravo Favre, you will be missed.

Maybe that means he has more time to do movies with Cameron Diaz lol

If it's how HE says it, then it's right. It's a freaking name, for god's sake.

i don't care how he says it. it goes against any logical explanation of any language in the world.

That's like saying if your last name is Smith it's ok to say Msith if thats how YOU say it.

Exactly.

And who says English is logical, anyway?

You let the stupidest things annoy you sometimes.

It is sad to see him go. Favre epitomizes everything I like about a football quarterback, aside from some cruel twist of fate that made him not a Lion. /nod.
