Is it just me or is the booth tandem of Gumble and Collinsworth the WORST for covering NFL games? You'd think that if the NFL Network was wanting to sway people to want their network for NFL games then they would put a better product out.

Gumble is HORRIBLE! He is easily the worst play-by-play person doing NFL games. He is constantly behind the action. He has zero emotion and he is regularly lost on players names. Hell after the game last night he not only butchered Tony Romo's name he plugged the WRONG SPONSOR for the post-game show.

Collinsworth is OK as a #3 guy in the booth, but with a horrible play-by-play guy and no one else in the booth he is left to his own -- often Gumble misses the point that Collinsworth tries to make.

I remember an NFL Network broadcast game last year that started as Dick Vermeil and Marshall Faulk in the booth. Vermeil lost his voice mid-way in the game and Deion Sanders was brought in the booth to finish the game. Faulk/Sanders made a so-so game entertaining and Deion brought a level of description to the game that you don't hear often. (I didn't want Prime-Time in the booth when they brought him in but I was surprised at what a good job he ended up doing)

You would think that a Cowboys-Packers game would be easy to maintain the excitement and have a quality broadcast. NFL Network swung and missed big time last night.

Yea, Gumble is pathetic. No emotion at all.

Im sure this will be followed by a bunch of people saying they dont have NFL network hah. But I have it and Gumble is horrible. He says things that dont make much sense or no sense at all. I cant remember what all he said last night except that it was the 2nd quarter and he called it the 1st period. I think Collinsworth is pretty good, he knows what hes talking about and doesnt say things just to say things, though hes sort of forced to sometimes to carry Gumble along. Id put Collinsworth over Madden, Kornheiser, and Jaworski easily.

Gumble sucks. I watched the game at my father's house, who has DirecTV or something. Picture quality was nice and everything but man, Gumble sucks.

Other team is punting... silence.

In a monotone voice: "Oh, my, look at the that. He just returned the punt for an 85 yard TD. Good effort. Don't you agree?"

I didn't get to watch the game but everyone I know that did complained about how incredibly terrible Gumble was.

I'm not sure it matters. NFL football is NFL football. I will watch it regardless of who is in the booth making semi-coherent statements about the game in progress.

I can't stand the NFL network announcers I was glad that even though Dallas and Green Bay looked to be a great game that I was traveling the whole time and didn't have to watch it. I don't really like the CBS announcers either but at least I can listen to them once in a while.
