He died this morning if anyone has not heard - Story

While famous people are killed occasionally this one seems very strange. From what I heard on ESPN radio this morning, his house was broken in to a week ago, stuff was riffled through, but nothing was taken as far as he could tell. Also there was a knife found lying on his bed. This time he was home, and was shot in the leg, but nothing was taken, and the person didnt shoot his girlfriend (who I think was in the same room) or his daughter. I think this might turn out to be a deranged fan. Crazy stuff.

This smells like a hit to me. Reports say that Taylor was working to distance himself from his troubled past. His phone line was cut prior to the shooting which further delayed emergency treatment.

I think that the shooting was a "message" and that he was shot "in the groin area" on purpose becuase of the damage and potential slow death it would cause due to excessive bleeding.

Regardless, it still is very sad that a man lost his life, and a daughter lost her father.

Yeah, I mean, it's not all too shocking because football is such a violent sport and has so many thug type people w/ unsavory backgrounds participating in it, but it should never go this far. Esp. if the guy was trying to distance himself from it.

Very sad for the family. I feel for the daughter. :(

Pretty amazing 36 hours here in DC. Went to bed last night thinking he was past the worst of it, woke up this AM hearing of his death.

I have to wonder about his daughter mostly, and his girlfriend. Its been a horrible day to watch TV / listen to radio in the DC area today.

Clinton Portis (college teammate and close friend of his) will apparently be wearing #21 (ST's number) in the game against the Bills this Sunday. Its a great gesture, but I was hoping they might retire it.
