You know, some people just love to bitch and whine and complain about, seriously, the tiniest things in the world. It makes me wonder, sometimes, if I am like that... and these things happen to me to inform me that I am like that at times, and to stop bitching and whining.
First it was the whole crap about just having the winning picks posted, not the game with a winner afterwards. Did not realize it was that huge a deal; I mean, it was always quite apparent who I picked to win each game. But fine, I "complied" with Lanys board rules and policies. Now, it is capitalization. Other people whined and bitched that I would never capitalize any letters, other people whined and bitched that my posts were long, other people whined and bitched about this shit and that shit...
Personally, I think people need to get a fucking life. But whatever. If you seriously fucking want to know why, here is the leet insider strategy-
I copy the schedule for the week from the original poster. I then hit the reply key, which brings me to the next screen where I can type my reply. I then right click in the big white box and paste the copy to it. Now, I have the schedule in front of me. What I then do is look at the game, and immediately type who I think will win that game. Example-
SUN, NOV 18
Cleveland at Baltimore - BALTIMORE
I go through every game like that, strictly on a "gut" feeling. First instincts, whatever the fuck you want to call it. When I am finished, I then scroll up and re-look at the picks. Who is QB that week, hot streaks, history, all that shit. Maybe do a quick espn.com in another window to answer a couple quick questions. If I am satisfied with that game, I move down to the next. Rinse and repeat.
At the very end, I go back and to "comply" with Lanys authoritative figures... I delete all unnecessary information. It is much EASIER for me to highlight "Cleveland at Baltimore - ", and hit the delete key once or twice if the "- " did not get highlighted... than it is for me to highlight "Cleveland at ", delete, and then highlight "- BALTIMORE". One highlight > two highlights, easier and faster.
I also put the winner in all caps because it is EASIER for myself to look at the game for the week and know who I picked. Maybe I have crappy vision, I don't fucking now. But what I do know is that it is easier for me to immediately look and know who I picked, because it is bold and all caps and stands out.
I did not do that well last year in the Lanys league; in fact, I was dead last. I don't want to be last again. Sorry. I guess those people who have participated in athletics in their lifetime tend to want to finish in first place, and do things that they feel are necessary to ensure that they are successful. I being one of those former athletes, with still the current athletic drive in myself... I want to win. So I do things, like copy/paste and capitalize winners and go back and re-think a second time, that help me try and be successful. Not everyone does it like that, each person does what each person feels they need to do to be successful. But at the end of the day... I give out a list of winners for football games. Big fucking deal.
As I write this last part, I just realized I have wasted 10-15 minutes of my life. I wish I could have those minutes back, I could have better used them in a more productive capacity. O well, every second on these boards is an absolute waste of time for everyone... and we all need some absolute wastes of times in all of our lives. So I used up 15 minutes this week for that, hooray.
